Background / History

Xuanyuan Sheng reincarnated into the Douluo world. His awakening of the Xuanyuan Sword caused Humanity to condense within a world that had previously possessed only the Heavenly Dao, creating Douluo's Humanity's Luck. He considers himself responsible for humanity's survival, especially while the Plane Spirit and Life Tree are being assimilated by an unknown force. 3

He attends Shrek Academy as a first-year student in Class Nine. Shortly after arriving, Zhou Yi attempts to persuade him to transfer to her class, but he rejects her bluntly, objecting to her view that only “monsters” deserve cultivation. 1

He lives with his elder sister, Zhang Lexuan, in her Inner Court villa. Zhang Lexuan has made every Soul Tool he carries except a system-rewarded communication jade, and her protection allows him to cultivate and rest securely. 2 36

Xuanyuan Sheng is blunt, irreverent, and unwilling to indulge authority figures he considers hypocritical. He dismisses Zhou Yi's recruitment attempt because he rejects her selective approach to teaching and is confident that his own talent does not require her guidance. 1

Despite his arrogance, he is thoughtful about humanity's future and treats those close to him with patience. He accepts Zhang Lexuan's protectiveness, supports Xiao Xiao during dangerous training and exhaustion, and considers Ma Xiaotao's wish to become Zhang Lexuan's disciple. 11 18 33 36

He is also playful and teasing, especially toward Xiao Xiao. He jokes about her weakness after their Martial Soul Fusion and quietly finds Zhang Lexuan's attempts to hide her concern amusing. 9 18

Early Bonds at Shrek

He lives with Zhang Lexuan, meets Ma Xiaotao, and becomes increasingly involved with Xiao Xiao. His first fusion with Xiao Xiao reveals that her Martial Soul can merge completely with the Xuanyuan Sword, though her soul power is quickly exhausted. 2 4 9

Teacher Selection and Cultivation Stagnation
