Malfoy angrily raised his wand and cast a Severing Charm at the "Shocking Font" on the wall.
The spell struck the wall with a sharp crack, but the line of wire letters stuck tightly to it remained completely unharmed.
Seeing this, the Gryffindor students burst into loud laughter.
Malfoy's face flushed red with anger. He waved his wand again and again.
"Diffindo!"

He angrily cast several Severing Charms in succession, but still didn't see the slightest effect.
Now the students around them laughed even louder. Even the Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws joined in.
Malfoy's already pale face turned even paler. He glared viciously at the people around him.
But nobody was afraid of him. Many were looking at him with mocking expressions.
Scott heard Fred shout from the crowd, "Want me to call your daddy to help you? Oh, poor little baby Malfoy!"
His words immediately set off a roar of laughter.
"Damn it!"
Malfoy gripped his wand and raised his hand again.
"Get out of the way, Malfoy!"
An older Slytherin student stepped forward and roughly yanked Malfoy aside.
He gave Malfoy a cold look, drew his wand, and said, "Reducto!"
With a decisive movement, he cast a blasting curse more powerful than the Severing Charm.

The spell struck the wall again, but still had no effect.
The older Slytherin student's expression turned extremely grim.
"What's going on, Stryner?" one of his classmates asked.
"It's a Permanent Sticking Charm," Stryner said coldly. "Once this thing is stuck to the wall with a Permanent Sticking Charm, Hogwarts Castle treats it like a portrait and protects it."
Just then, Scott heard two older Ravenclaws nearby speaking in low voices.
"Ha, Stryner finally figured it out."
"I thought nobody in Slytherin would work it out."
