Background / History

Soul Hunting Forest incident

Tang San accompanies his teacher, Yu Xiaogang, into the Soul Hunting Forest to obtain a first spirit ring. When they encounter a Datura Snake more than four hundred years old, he remains behind to face it after Yu Xiaogang is rendered unconscious by poison. His Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track allows him to evade the snake’s attacks, and he ultimately kills it. 1

During the battle, Luo Yan severs Luo Sanpao’s connection to Yu Xiaogang and drains much of the teacher’s blood essence. Luo Yan holds Yu Xiaogang hostage, forcing Tang San to absorb the Datura Snake’s spirit ring before escaping. Tang San later promises to avenge Yu Xiaogang and kill Luo Yan. 1 2 3

Notting City

Tang San and Xiao Wu register as soul masters at the Notting City Martial Soul Hall Branch, where both test at level 13. Luo Yan provokes Tang San, who retaliates with his Mysterious Jade Hand and Sleeve Arrow but is repelled. 5

Fearing for Xiao Wu’s safety, Tang San joins Strong, City Lord Xiao, and academy teachers in a plan to capture Luo Yan. The attempt fails when Luo Yan incapacitates the assembled guards and teachers with Thunder Annihilation; Tang San is among the few left conscious, though severely wounded. 7 9

Journey to Shrek Academy

After graduating from Notting Junior Soul Master Academy, Tang San travels toward Suotuo City to enroll at Shrek Academy. He purchases a Hair Crystal from Flender’s shop, senses energy similar to the Mysterious Heaven Skill within it, and chooses to absorb that energy before forging it into hidden weapons. 17 50 51

Tang Hao assists Tang San in the Star Dou Great Forest after Tang San reaches level 30. Tang San acquires his third spirit ring and a left-arm soul bone, then later obtains a fourth spirit ring after finishing the Hair Crystal’s energy absorption. These opportunities raise him to level 42, making him a Soul Ancestor before entering Shrek Academy. 64 65

Shrek Academy and Heaven Dou City

Tang Hao personally brings Tang San to Shrek Academy, where Tang San reveals himself as a 12-year-old level 42 Control System Battle Soul Ancestor. His talent earns the immediate attention of Flender, Li Yusong, and Yu Xiaogang. 66 67

Tang San joins Dai Mubai, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun as sworn brothers. He intends to compete in the Continental Advanced Spirit Master Elite Competition, viewing its three spirit-bone prizes as a major opportunity for further growth. 67 81

Conflict with Dugu Bo

Dugu Bo captures Tang San after Tang San injures Dugu Yan. While held in the Sunset Forest, Tang San discovers Dugu Bo’s collection of medicinal herbs and plans to claim the treasure trove for himself after escaping. 94 95

Tang San encounters Xiao Wu near Dugu Bo’s territory and attempts to persuade her to leave with him. She rejects him, while Da Ming’s pressure injures him; Tang San faints from rage and is taken away by Dugu Bo. After his eventual release, Tang San adds both Dugu Bo and Luo Yan to his list of enemies. 96 99
