An Jing naturally understood. Stroking his chin, he said thoughtfully, "The awakening of the Primordial Demon Abyss is that starting point... Even if it has not yet happened, everything has already begun turning because of it. And when it truly happens, everything will be declared over."
"So Great Immortal Huaixu uncovered the seal ahead of time, shattering that 'seal' and returning everything to logic and causality. That way, even if the seal is lifted, everything must still proceed in its proper order."
This was easy enough to understand.
For mortals, the sequence of time was irreversible. Events had to unfold as one, two, three, four, five, six, seven—after one stage, causality carried them onward to the next.
But to those beings who transcended all that, sequence held no meaning at all. Like a world within a book, its order could be utterly scrambled—told backward, recounted in reverse, interwoven out of sequence. What came first might happen last, and what was ancient might be newer than the future.
After all, within that seal none knew of, within that "unknown domain" and "unillumined" realm never described in the series of books, anything could happen.
The Primordial Demon Abyss possessed precisely this power to do as it pleased within the unilluminated.
Faced with such an enemy, Great Immortal Huaixu had chosen to lift the seal in advance. This had indeed allowed the Heavenly Demons to emerge, but likewise, their development now had to follow logic. The "unilluminated" was no longer unilluminated; "Supreme Good" was like water, capable of suppressing the "Demon Abyss."
What would happen next... that was another story.
Having thought it all through, An Jing sighed with feeling. "What an enormous scheme. Great Immortal Huaixu truly left nothing unaccounted for—but why did matters still deteriorate to this extent?"
