--Damn this world, have you all started competing to see who can be the most depraved at cannibalism?!
Taking a deep breath, An Jing felt a rage rising from the depths of his heart... along with a heat wave surging from within: "If you weren't eating people, if you were just trying to rebel, I would definitely join you..."
"I would certainly join you, to turn the world upside down, overthrow this dynasty, and forge a new order!"
"But right now, I don't want to choose between two man-eating dragons!"
Originally, An Jing's plan was not actually to 'escape'.
Even with the Sword Spirit and another world to explore, An Jing never truly wanted to leave Xuanming Manor or the Demonic Cult.
His own strength, Fate Grid, and divine abilities were all 'bargaining chips'.
Just as Manor Master Yao said, An Jing and Manor Master Yao had a silent, unspoken understanding—Manor Master Yao allowed An Jing's behavior, and in the end, An Jing would choose to join the Demonic Cult in exchange for the survival of everyone, including the children still trapped in cages who hadn't died yet.
All the Children of Calamity of this generation were An Jing's 'base', and that was the true meaning of being the leader.
Since An Jing was such a genius, he had the power and freedom to be willful, to go mad, to be angry, and the power to designate 'who gets eaten and who doesn't'!
To slaughter on behalf of Heaven, to decide life and death—this power was An Jing's reward.
Perhaps in the past, many talented Fate Holders like An Jing had made the same choice. After venting their anger, fear, sorrow, and confusion, and seeing the essence of this world clearly, they ultimately chose to accept the power and became members of the Tianyi Divine Sect, becoming its high-ranking officials.
One could even say that as long as the Demonic Cult told An Jing and the other children in advance that the vast majority of the eliminated children would die, would become the strength for others to move forward, and would become the assistance accompanying them toward greater heights... as long as they changed the perspective, embellished death, turned passive slaughter into self-sacrifice, and turned the medicinal concoctions into a contribution filled with hope...
Would he still refuse the Tianyi Sect?
This grand, righteous cannibalism... if it were just beautified a little more...
He shook his head. He would not delve deeper.
Right now.
An Jing did not refute Bai Qinghan, nor did he want to refute Manor Master Yao: "I don't want to refute you, because if I don't act, it's all meaningless."
Amidst Manor Master Yao's shocked and pleasantly surprised shout of "You've also mastered a divine ability?!", and in the slightly wavering gaze of Bai Qinghan, An Jing closed his eyes.
He thought of the stewed meat in the refugee camp, thought of the medicine vats of Xuanming Manor, thought of the scattered corpses in the ice and snow of the Northern Frontier, thought of the skulls floating in the medicinal mud, and the husks hanging in the dungeons.
--Is this world really only capable of this?
He gritted his teeth, anger surging into his heart.
It was not merely anger toward the Demonic Cult, but anger toward the past that created all of this, and toward everything that led to today.
--I absolutely do not accept this!
When he opened his eyes again, An Jing's pupils were incredibly dim, with only threads of golden-red radiance at the center, like embers of coal about to go out in a furnace, flickering with a faint, fiery light in the pitch-black darkness.
He reached out, his five fingers grasping at the void, and blood-colored light rose from the meridians of his arm, condensing.
An Jing gripped the empty air, and in his right hand, which had been empty, a sword appeared once again!
A 'Sha Sword' with blood-sha as the blade and gold-sha as the bone!
--Grasp the sha into form, condense the energy into a weapon!
"Now."
The blood-colored Sha Sword was gripped tightly in his hand; An Jing no longer sighed, no longer hesitated.
In his eyes, there was only the purest killing intent and rage: "I only want to speak with my sword."
An Jing moved.
Ignoring Bai Qinghan, he stepped like a tiger pouncing on its prey, rushing toward Manor Master Yao. At the moment of the pounce, he twisted his wrist inward, channeled his Armor-Piercing True Energy, and thrust straight forward.
Wherever the blood-colored sword tip passed, the air was pierced, emitting a whistle. Such momentum made it look less like a sword and more like a great spear meant to pierce through iron-clad city walls and impale everyone blocking its path!
"Kid, don't think that just because you've mastered a divine ability, you can fight me!"
Ghostly green sha-fire lit up in Manor Master Yao's eyes. Seeing An Jing's talent, he was both pleased and angry. He had encountered enough frustrating things today: first An Jing leading the others to rebel, then the Red Armor Guards launching a surprise attack, and there were even traitors in the manor who had brought True Person Xuanjing here.
Carrying this rage, he sneered, grabbed a steel saber from an instructor at will, and pulled it toward him.
Ghostly green poisonous sha was poured into the saber, and bright emerald-green patterns seeped out. Manor Master Yao twisted his hand, and the emerald-patterned long saber fluttered forward like butterfly wings, almost impossible to track.
With a clang, the saber and sword collided, and the power of both sides erupted violently.
An Jing was sent flying a full ten feet away. A visible shockwave ruffled his clothes, and the sharp energy, carrying sand and gravel, left trails of blood on his face and body.
But on the other side, at the moment the power erupted, Manor Master Yao's expression changed drastically. The emerald-patterned long saber in his hand vibrated violently, and he retreated rapidly, shattering bones and rocks wherever he stepped, his footprints sinking an inch deep!
In the clash of blade and sword, it was actually Manor Master Yao, at the Internal Strengthening realm, who lost slightly in terms of raw power!
"Internal Breath... Internal Breath like a river?!"
After stopping, the old man looked in astonishment at the emerald-patterned long saber in his hand, which now had a notch in it. He said incredulously: "When did you break through?!"
There was no answer to this question. Before the words had even faded, the old man gritted his teeth and stepped forward. An Jing, having landed, did not hesitate either; he stomped heavily on the ground and rushed toward Manor Master Yao once more.
Although An Jing was only at the Internal Breath like a river stage, he was young, strong, and had a deep foundation. While Manor Master Yao was indeed old, his blood energy was waning, and he lacked any supernatural power in terms of strength, he was still at the Internal Strengthening realm, far surpassing ordinary people.
The collision of their formidable power caused sandstorms to rise and rocks to shatter, with debris splashing into the river, kicking up sprays of water over ten feet high.
The Children of Calamity who had chosen to follow Bai Qinghan screamed and ran far away, not daring to watch this battle.
Watching this scene, Bai Qinghan frowned slightly, Mysterious Yin Water Arrows circling around her to block the aftermath.
An Jing engaged in close-quarters combat directly with Manor Master Yao, leaving her unable to intervene.
Yet in the end, it seemed her intervention was not required.
As blade and sword clashed, Manor Master Yao's gaze sharpened. He activated his supernatural ability, Fire in the Pupils, and a dark green Nether Poisonous Evil flame manifested out of thin air, shooting toward An Jing with a chilling, razor-sharp intensity.
The mere sight of this flame made An Jing's eyes sting, but instead of looking away, he widened them. Tracking the trajectory of the projectile, he shifted his feet and contorted his body into a bizarre posture, reminiscent of an iron bridge, to narrowly evade the strike.
However, this surprise attack forced An Jing onto the defensive.
As An Jing dodged and regained his footing, before his strength could fully recover, the now-serious Manor Master Yao slashed down with his blade. A terrifying burst of power erupted, causing the Red Sword and Emerald Blade to fly from their grips after a rapid, jarring collision.
One side wielded an iron blade reinforced only by evil energy, while the other held a supernatural sword; clearly, An Jing was at a disadvantage.
Yet, the moment An Jing realized he could no longer hold the Sha Sword, he surged his Internal Breath, exerted a sudden burst of force, and used the momentum to hurl the weapon away.
An Jing poured nearly a third of his Internal Breath into this sword-throw. The red Sha Sword let out a sonic boom as it tore through the air, appearing only as a flash of blood-red light streaking toward Bai Qinghan!
Seeing the Sha Sword hurtling toward her, Bai Qinghan tapped her toes lightly and shifted her body to the side. But as the Sha Sword struck the spot where she had been standing, it exploded, sending a cloud of gravel and stone debris into the air.
The young girl narrowed her eyes slightly. She raised her hand, and the frost and cold mist surrounding her churned and parted, transforming into two illusory cloud-sleeves that shielded her sides, blocking the rapidly incoming gravel and stone.
This strike posed no threat to her, but it was enough to distract Bai Qinghan from the main battlefield for a few breaths.
A few breaths were all he needed!
At the same time, Manor Master Yao, who had also lost his weapon, saw his hair and beard fluttering like green fire. Surging with dark-colored evil energy, he pointed a finger at An Jing in mid-air.
Supernatural Ability: Dantian Sea!
Instantly, the Nether Poisonous Evil, surging like a tidal wave, rushed toward An Jing. The sinister, vicious nether-evil swallowed An Jing in an instant, even climbing upward to engulf his upper body!
Enough.
Seeing this, Vice Envoy Yao thought to himself. Eroding An Jing's outer flesh and teaching him a lesson was enough; after all, he was a talent destined for the main mountain, and if things got too ugly, he would only be making life difficult for himself later.
But the next instant, just as Vice Envoy Yao was considering whether to pull back his strength, a thunderous sound suddenly erupted!
Bang bang bang bang bang bang!
Ten consecutive explosions, sounding like thunder, rang out almost simultaneously. Manor Master Yao, who had been standing straight, suddenly raised his hands. Dark green evil energy condensed on his palms like emerald jade, and he unleashed a flawless palm technique, batting away several metallic objects.
However, because it was so sudden, his body finally shuddered. With a look of shock on his face, he lowered his head to look at his chest.
"What... is this?!"
There, two thumb-sized bloody holes had pierced through his flesh, exposing the bone and the writhing internal organs beneath!
Even an Internal Strengthening martial artist could not fully withstand bullets!
At this moment, An Jing slowly stepped out from the dark green nether-evil. The Nether Poisonous Evil had not yet managed to fully erode the flesh protected by his Internal Breath; aside from a small portion of skin that had been eaten away to reveal raw red muscle, he had not suffered any serious injuries.
In An Jing's hands, the barrels of two large-caliber gunpowder pistols were still slowly drifting with blue smoke.
Of all the martial arts, this is the way of the dual pistols!
