Sleep after entering a state of stillness through the Cunsi Method was called "Cunshen Yangshen," also known as "Taixi."
It was the optimal way to rest. The mind entered a state of stillness, and somewhere between dreaming and waking, consciousness worked in perfect harmony with the body's instincts, using its stored nutrients to repair and shape the body in the best possible way.
One or two shichen of Cunshen sleep could meet an ordinary person's needs for an entire day. Even injuries and depletion could be nursed back to health by sleeping a little longer.
When An Jing woke, he felt full of energy and refreshed. Though a few muscles still ached faintly and his injuries had not yet completely healed, that was only because his body lacked nutrients and he had not had enough time.
"I'm in great shape."
