"Lord, this is bad! The Lords on the vehicle—Lord, what's wrong?"

Number One flung open the door of War Chariot No.4 and jumped down, intending to report the strange changes happening to the Lords inside. But then he noticed that his own Lord was pale too, and hurried over in alarm.

Shana stood nearby, at a loss, supporting Colin. Her usually gentle expression had turned grave in a way that was hard to describe—

She had realized that none of her abilities worked anymore!

"I'm fine."

Colin waved a pale hand, wanting to speak, but found that he couldn't even get those three words out.

But this wasn't the time to worry about that. He closed his eyes and took as deep a breath as he could, focusing all his attention on his mind.

Vaguely, something there seemed to be churning.

Colin—or, more precisely, every Survivor in the world, Colin included—was experiencing the same thing!

A terrifying, heart-stopping sense of impending death descended on everyone at the same time.

Only a few people who were fighting outside felt it less strongly, and it didn't affect them much.

At that moment, Colin felt something writhing, converging, and splitting in his mind, unseen.

Over and over.

Then, after an unknown amount of time, words appeared in everyone's minds, a deep red and dripping as if they were written in blood.

"Beware.*"

The writhing scarlet gathered into letters, as if trying to warn everyone of something.

He didn't know if their true color was red, but when they appeared in his mind and registered in his thoughts, they were a deep crimson.

With each word, Colin felt the pressure mount, as if some terrible presence were bearing down on him. His teeth chattered.
