"Uh, Number Nine, what happened?"
Colin looked at the person beside Number Two. If he remembered correctly, this should be Number Nine, the Lamp Bearer of the Ninth Squad.
At present, only squad leaders had been given names.
After they had just finished dealing with the Aberration, three War Chariots had been sent to search the nearby area for a Mine Cave. It seemed they had found something.
But judging by the other man's expression, something unexpected had happened.
"Lord, the Mine Cave is about three kilometers from here. There's a cave-in about a hundred meters inside, and the way is blocked."
"We didn't see those Survivors, but while passing through other parts of the forest, we saw five groups of corpses in total, along with the corresponding Survivors."
Number Nine, the Lamp Bearer, lowered his head slightly as he reported. He didn't dare to look Colin in the eye, even though Colin had always been easygoing and had never given them a hard time.
But as a servant whom Colin had saved from death, and one who was loyal to him from the bottom of his heart, he wouldn't take his lord's kindness for granted.
"Blocked?"
Colin considered this for a moment before asking, "Were the dead crushed to death? Could you tell how many people had gone inside the cave? Were their Hurricane Lamps intact?"
Number Nine thought briefly, then answered humbly in a measured tone:
"Yes, Lord. They were all crushed to death. Three of the corpses appeared to have been searched; there was nothing left on them. The belongings from the other two are in my War Chariot.
"The corpses were in pretty bad shape. I'd guess they died a few hours ago. We also saw marks from the Lord-level Aberration's weapon, so there shouldn't be
