Colin pieced things together in his mind.

Most of those people didn't have any mysterious items. They probably only had weapons like swords and knives, perhaps with a few "special effects" at best.

With that level of strength, venturing in to investigate was a joke. The monsters they might encounter aside, the unknown mental influence that was everywhere would have been more than enough to overwhelm them.

On top of that, they'd arrived this morning, when the danger hadn't grown so intense yet. Colin was almost certain that most of them were dead.

Of course, it was possible that one of them was still alive: the person who'd started it all.

Colin had been sure the man was lying at the time, but he couldn't guess why. Now, seeing the signs of the collapse, he felt the people who'd been lured over there were probably dead.

Li Hang, who had entered alongside them, had also put a lot together. He couldn't help sighing. "That was close. I was tempted back then, but I didn't go. Otherwise, I'd have been done for too."
