After putting away these energy bodies, the Energy Crystal had nothing else of value.

When he passed Funakubo Keisuke's upper body halfway there, he deliberately stopped to inspect it.

He discovered that Funakubo Keisuke had already stopped breathing and completely lost his life.

"He died a little too fast."

Logically speaking, with his "exquisite" swordsmanship, Funakubo Keisuke should have lasted at least several more minutes.

Dying this early likely meant that learning of Sakura Safe Zone's fall had dealt him such a severe psychological blow that he passed away ahead of time.

But Lin Zhiluo did not care whether he lived or died. He kicked Funakubo Keisuke's prone body over with one foot.

Then he summoned a bolt of lightning and struck Funakubo Keisuke's corpse.

It was because Funakubo Keisuke still had several "Soul Stones" on him—the tokens required for "Reanimation."

What these tokens currently held were the souls of Major Noda and the others. They could probably still be summoned twice.

Funakubo Keisuke had told him all this earlier when facing the threat of death.

The lightning quickly blasted Funakubo Keisuke's corpse to pieces. Amid the explosion, several strange-looking stones fell out.

These stones were fairly sturdy, having actually withstood the first bolt of lightning.

So Lin Zhiluo promptly followed up with another bolt.

Under the strike of this lightning, the stones finally failed to endure and shattered one after another.

As the stones burst apart, black shadows drifted out from within them, each letting out a shrill cry like the unwilling roar of someone at death's door.

However, the shadows soon dissipated completely into the air.

Only after ensuring that every stone
