Parting Ways

A moment later, the two slowly parted. A faint flush colored Zi Yan's cheeks as she lifted her eyes to gaze at Xiao Ling. Her lovely eyes still held lingering embarrassment, yet she insisted on pretending to be perfectly composed.

Xiao Ling chuckled at the sight. His fingertip teasingly brushed over her delicate nose as he joked indulgently, "So, are you still angry now? Still throwing your little tantrum? How could I not see through all those twists and turns in that little mind of yours?"

Having her thoughts exposed, Zi Yan's pretty face reddened further. She immediately pursed her lips and lightly punched Xiao Ling's chest with her small fist. The force was as soft as a willow catkin brushing past, carrying not the slightest threat.

Afterward, she crossed her arms and deliberately turned her face away, huffing, "Hmph, that depends on how you behave! I'm not so easy to coax, nor am I so easy to deal with!"

Though her words sounded deliberately tough, Xiao Ling did not see that the side of her face turned away from him had already reddened to her ears. The corners of her lips had also quietly lifted despite herself, concealing the joy and sweetness in her heart. That bit of grievance and awkwardness she had accumulated earlier had long vanished without a trace.

Meanwhile, inside the quiet chamber on the top floor of the Spacecraft, pale purple gauze curtains hung before the carved window. Whenever the breeze passed through, they rippled in delicate waves.

Medusa, dressed in a gorgeous crimson gown that trailed across the floor, stood gracefully beside the curtain with Xiao Xi'er securely cradled in her arms. Through the transparent shield, her shimmering beautiful eyes took in every bit of the intimate sight of Xiao Ling and Zi Yan
