The Heavenly Emperor had encountered his own fortuitous opportunities. When the Heaven-Bearing Universe faced its hardship, most of its cosmic fragments had fallen into the Chaos Universe.
The Heavenly Emperor happened to come across quite a few of them. Using the Devouring Dao, he devoured several survivors and obtained their memories.
The reason he knew of Calamity was that Calamity had once experienced love. But after Calamity betrayed Dominator City, he severed all ties with his former lover.
Now that the tribulation had passed, Calamity believed that person had already fallen.
Yet in truth, Calamity's former lover had survived, only to be devoured by the Heavenly Emperor and stripped of their memories.
It was through this that the Heavenly Emperor learned about Calamity.
The Heavenly Emperor knew that Calamity had brought forth the cosmic tribulation ahead of time, causing the entire Heaven-Bearing Universe to shatter and nearly be destroyed.
However, Calamity had only been at the tenth level of the Supreme Realm then. Though incomparably powerful, he had not possessed such ability. Thus, to summon the cosmic tribulation in advance, he must have paid an enormous price.
Originally, when the Heavenly Emperor saw Calamity's Supreme Dao, he assumed that this price was the tribulation's power descending upon the Dao.
One had to know that the tribulation had even shattered the entire Heaven-Bearing Universe. Treasures littering Dominator City had all become useless junk. This showed just how terrifying the power of that tribulation was.
