Jiang Yuanjie Breaks Through

After Mu Qing knocked Luo Ya unconscious, Jiang Yuanjie and Ling Fei easily dealt with the other four.

"Mu Qing! Are you all right?" Ji Jia and Yang Shanshan hurried over, their eyes filled with disbelief.

In less than ten minutes, Luo Ya, who was at Blood Qi Sixth Rank, had actually been defeated by Mu Qing. No matter who you asked, they wouldn't believe it!

From their perspective, Mu Qing and Luo Ya had simply traded a single blow with their martial skills, and then Luo Ya had been defeated. It had all happened that easily!

"I'm fine." Mu Qing took a deep breath and smiled. He was sitting on the ground, panting heavily.

As he spoke, he tried to stand, but accidentally pulled at the wound on his chest. Blood spurted out in waves.

To anyone watching, he had defeated Luo Ya with a single Thunderstorm Fist. In reality, though, if he hadn't known the weakness in Luo Ya's martial skill, he would never have stood a chance.

Even knowing about Luo Ya's weakness hadn't guaranteed him victory. He had only won by relying on the power of the fourth level of Thunderstorm Fist and dealing the greatest possible damage before Luo Ya could bring his full strength to bear.

After all, the main difference between Blood Qi Sixth Rank and Fifth Rank was the depth of their Origin Force!

When Luo Ya realized Mu Qing hadn't broken through to Blood Qi Sixth Rank, he let his guard down. That kick of his had been powerful, but he had only used a fraction of his strength.

That was exactly why Mu Qing had been able to exploit his weakness so easily and inflict such devastating injuries!

"You're bleeding!" Ji Jia furrowed her delicate brows, her bright eyes shimmering. Then she gritted her teeth, tore off part of her uniform, and bandaged Mu Qing's chest.

Ji Jia's uniform now had a huge tear in it, exposing her soft, tender skin, smooth as mutton fat jade.

Looking at the expanse of pale skin so close to him, Mu Qing couldn't help letting his thoughts wander. A faint fragrance reached his nose, jolting his spirits.

Ji Jia noticed the heat in Mu Qing's eyes, and the tips of her ears turned faintly red.

"Jiajia!" Yang Shanshan cried out, quickly pulling Ji Jia behind her. Her cheeks puffed up as she glared fiercely at Mu Qing, as if he were some heinous demon.

"How could you get so close to that Demon Mu? He's definitely a lecher!" Yang Shanshan said to Ji Jia.

"Whatever else, they did save us just now." Ji Jia shook her head, her eyes curving into crescent moons as she spoke softly. "Besides, I don't think Mu Qing means us any harm."

"Fine." Yang Shanshan pursed her lips.

"Mu Qing, are you all right?" Ling Fei and Jiang Yuanjie came over just then.

"I'm fine. They're only flesh wounds." Mu Qing shook his head, indicating that his injuries wouldn't keep him from moving.

"By the way, why are there only the two of you? Where are the others from our class?" Ling Fei turned to Ji Jia and Yang Shanshan.

At Ling Fei's question, anger immediately flared across Yang Shanshan's delicate face. "There's a really scary guy in the North Campus. He's united the entire North Campus!"

"From what we've heard, in just over half a day, most of the students from the three campuses other than the North Campus have already had their points taken and been eliminated. There are probably only a few of us left from our class." A trace of sorrow appeared in Ji Jia's eyes.

Of the team she had been leading, only she and Yang Shanshan remained. Everyone else had been eliminated.

Liu Tianyu from the North Campus was at Blood Qi Seventh Rank, and he had personally led the pursuit against them.

Yang Shanshan said bitterly, "Especially that Wang Haixuan! When we were surrounded by a large group from the North Campus, he didn't even try to help. He just turned and left. I was so wrong about him!"

"Wang Haixuan is the sort who puts profit first. Helping you would have meant offending Liu Tianyu from the North Campus, and he wouldn't have considered it worth the cost." Mu Qing knew Wang Haixuan fairly well. After all, he came from a Lineage and cared a great deal about profit.

"If the three campuses had joined forces, we might have been able to stand against Liu Tianyu, but unfortunately..." Ji Jia furrowed her brows. She hadn't expected a terrifying student at Blood Qi Seventh Rank to appear in this mock exam.

By now, the students from the three campuses had been relentlessly robbed of their points by the North Campus. Countless students had been eliminated.

There might not even be as many students left across the three campuses combined as there were in the North Campus.

It was too late for the three campuses to unite now!

"Not good! We have to leave right away. Someone's approaching at incredible speed!" Jiang Yuanjie suddenly turned pale and shouted.

Their fight with Luo Ya and the others had been brief, but it had still made enough noise to attract nearby North Campus teams.

The teams were spaced about a hundred meters apart. Whenever they spotted students from one of the other three campuses, they would alert nearby North Campus teams to come surround them.

Luo Ya had evidently been greedy. He wanted to capture Ji Jia and Yang Shanshan by himself and take them to Liu Tianyu, so he hadn't called for help. He also hadn't expected Mu Qing and the others to suddenly show up and disrupt his plans.

"Let's go!" Mu Qing said quietly. As Ji Jia and Yang Shanshan looked at him in confusion, he led them away at a quick pace.

Along the way, they relied on Jiang Yuanjie's perception to keep track of their surroundings. They didn't stop until they had gone several hundred meters deeper into the center of Lake Heart Island.

Everyone was panting. Mu Qing felt a fresh pang from the wound he'd just reopened.

Ji Jia and Yang Shanshan had also gone pale. They'd already been chased for a long time, and the Origin Force in their bodies had long since run dry. They needed time to recover.

Of them all, Ling Fei was in the best shape. After breaking through to Blood Qi Sixth Rank, his Origin Force had more than doubled!

"I feel like those North Campus teams are all gathering in one direction." A strange expression came over Jiang Yuanjie's face as he pointed.

Yang Shanshan's eyes lit up. "That's where Liu Tianyu and the others are. I think Liu Tianyu is calling all the North Campus teams together."

"That's right. We looked into Liu Tianyu earlier," Ji Jia added. "He's brought the entire North Campus under his command, so his forces are huge. His target isn't just the other three campuses; he's also after the large beast herds on Lake Heart Island."

"Beast herds?" Mu Qing narrowed his eyes and murmured.

"Exactly. Liu Tianyu is after a nest of apes. The troop has plenty of Blood Qi Fifth Rank monkeys, quite a few at Sixth Rank, and even the ape leader is at Blood Qi Seventh Rank." Ji Jia nodded. As she tied her gorgeous crimson hair into a ponytail, she continued, "Some of the beast nests on this island, where the beasts are at Blood Qi Sixth Rank, contain precious medicinal herbs. The ape leader's cave has a Vermilion Fruit. Liu Tianyu wants to take it so he can break through to Blood Qi Eighth Stage." Her expression was grave.

Ji Jia and the others had uncovered a lot of information and knew what Liu Tianyu was after.

"No! We can't just sit here and wait!" After learning what Liu Tianyu was really after, Mu Qing shouted, lightning flashing in his eyes.

Ling Fei and Jiang Yuanjie both nodded.

Ling Fei took a deep breath. "Liu Tianyu's at Blood Qi Seventh Rank, and he's already been able to bring the entire North Campus under his sway. If he breaks through to Blood Qi Eighth Stage, we won't stand a chance!"

Jiang Pangzi now understood how serious the situation was too. "We have to stop him!"

"Easier said than done," Yang Shanshan sighed. "He's incredibly strong, even among those at Blood Qi Seventh Rank. His martial skill seems to be beyond the advanced level, and he's a lecher too."

As she spoke, Yang Shanshan seemed to think of something. She shot Mu Qing a glare and added, "Just like you!"

Mu Qing's mouth twitched. He had no idea why this girl seemed to have such a grudge against him.

"Of course, we can't stop him right now..." Mu Qing mused. Then he grinned. "But once our Origin Force has recovered, we might be able to!"

"Oh?"

Ji Jia and Yang Shanshan's eyes brightened. They wondered if Mu Qing had some other trick up his sleeve.

Mu Qing shifted his gaze to Jiang Yuanjie. Ji Jia and Yang Shanshan followed his gaze, looking at Jiang Yuanjie in confusion.

With so many people watching him, Jiang Yuanjie felt a little embarrassed. His hefty frame trembled as he gave a sheepish grin.

"You mean Jiang Yuanjie's perception?" Ji Jia caught on.

She had already heard that Jiang Yuanjie had a powerful sense of perception. Seeing him help them evade several North Campus teams just now had shown her how formidable that ability was.

"Exactly," Mu Qing replied with a nod. "With Jiang Pangzi's powerful perception, we'll be hidden while Liu Tianyu is out in the open. We can pick them off one by one!"

"We can even fish in troubled waters while Liu Tianyu deals with the ape nest!" A sharp glint flashed in Mu Qing's eyes.

"First, we'll recover our Origin Force. As soon as everyone's recovered, we'll attack Liu Tianyu's forces!" he said firmly.

Everyone nodded, realizing how little time they had.

It was already night, the perfect time to pick off those teams one by one. Liu Tianyu seemed to have started calling all the North Campus teams back. If they didn't act quickly, the teams might gather together.

Once that happened, they would have no way to take them on one by one!

Everyone immediately hid in the darkness, sat down, and continuously circulated the Blood Refining Technique to recover their Origin Force.

For those already at Blood Qi Fifth Rank or even Sixth Rank, going one night without sleep, food, or water wouldn't have much effect.

"Hm? Jiang Yuanjie..." Jiang Yuanjie, sitting beside Mu Qing, suddenly trembled. His chubby face lit up with joy. "I think I'm about to break through to Blood Qi Sixth Rank!"
