"Hmph! A mere little planetary-level brat, and he doesn't even give me face? It seems I've been quiet for too long; the prestige of Dark Star Venerable has lost its edge!"
In the center of a massive, dark planet sat a grand hall, standing over a thousand kilometers tall.
A great existence with two giant horns atop his head, he was none other than Dark Star Venerable, the ruler of these tens of thousands of star systems.
He was the founder of the Dark Star Universe Kingdom, and with the strength of a Military Lord-level immortal god, his position was more than secure.
When he heard that in the Virtual Universe, on Dark Star Island, his name as Dark Star Venerable held no weight—especially since the offender was just a planetary-level brat—his fury soared to the heavens.
"Investigate! Find out where he is. Great Protector, prepare to depart!" Dark Star Venerable waved his massive hand, issuing the command.
The entire Dark Star became a hive of activity; as the founder of the Dark Star Universe Kingdom, he held absolute power in this space.
Furthermore, the eternal life of an immortal god had allowed him to enjoy this domain for over a hundred million years.
"It's been a hundred million years since I last took action. I don't know who stands behind this little brat, but... I am Dark Star Venerable!" The deep, booming voice of Dark Star Venerable echoed across the entire Dark Star.
The other attendants in the hall, seeing Dark Star Venerable in such a rage, became extremely cautious, not daring to even breathe loudly.
Killing Field, duel space.
"Sett, you really are something else. In just these three days, you've already reached a six-star rating," Sanying said to Sett.
The two had known each other for three days. Three days ago, Sett had just entered the Killing Field, and Sanying hadn't been there much longer.
By all accounts, Sanying was a genius, yet in three days, he had only managed a record of 128 wins and 36 losses, reaching a three-star rating.
But Sett was even more outrageous, having racked up a 500-win streak without a single loss, his rating nearly reaching seven stars.
This was also because Sett was lazy; he didn't like to fight for too long at once. If he had spent every day in there, he would likely have won thousands of matches by now.
"Heh, just average, third in the world," Sett laughed.
Although they were in the Virtual Universe and didn't need to recover energy, fighting for too long was mentally exhausting, so Sett usually fought a few dozen to a hundred matches before going out for a drink or logging off to rest.
"Although I haven't met any strong opponents these past few days, through a large amount of actual combat, I feel my domain is about to break through. I'll be at the fifth level of the domain soon," Sett said.
"Damn, comparing people just makes you want to die. I've only just grasped the domain, and you're already at the fifth level? Why don't you just ascend to the heavens and show me?" Sanying patted Sett's shoulder in surprise.
Of course, this was because Sett had just appeared; not all experts stayed in the duel space all the time.
Although the training effect of the Killing Field's duel space was excellent, it wasn't suitable for training for too long.
Only by undergoing true life-and-death tempering in the real world could one's strength truly improve.
Usually, martial artists would only come to the duel space for a period of training when they had doubts, changed weapons, or learned new secret techniques.
Sett, however, had two reasons: he was on a spaceship and couldn't undergo life-and-death tempering, and he had trained crazily for two years without any real combat experience, so he stayed in the duel arena.
"I'm a bit tired today. Want to go out for a drink?" Sett asked.
"Drinking sounds great. Training is so tiring, I really need to reward myself with a good drink. It's been hard work," Sanying said, getting excited at the mention of alcohol and dragging Sett toward the bar.
'Ba Jiu Yan Huan' bar. "We're here again. Should we go in?" Sanying frowned when he saw the bar.
Sett had caused a huge scene here last time. Although it wasn't Sett's fault, he had run into a disciple of Dark Star Venerable, which was truly bad luck.
After logging off, Sanying had told his World Lord master about the incident. While his master was a very powerful World Lord, he was no match for an immortal god and could only tell Sanying to be careful, not to reveal his real-world location, and not to tell even those he was close to.
"Let's go, why not? That Xinyan Wine is pretty good. Let's have a couple more," Sett said, not feeling anything was wrong, and walked in nonchalantly.
It was the same three-armed bartender. "Two glasses of Xinyan Wine," Sett said.
He then swiped his virtual assistant to pay for the drinks.
"Isn't that the guy who beat up Dark Star Venerable's disciple last time?"
"Yeah, that's him. That slap was really brutal."
"It's not like that disciple of Dark Star Venerable was any good; he thought he was hot stuff but got taught a lesson by a planetary-level nine guy."
Sett heard the surrounding chatter but treated it like wind passing by his ears.
Gossip was human nature, and Sett's glorious deeds had naturally spread quickly, to the point where he was recognized by quite a few people as soon as he entered the bar.
One had to remember that this was Dark Star Island, the corresponding space for the real-world Dark Star Universe Kingdom, so naturally, most people knew that the kingdom's ruler was Dark Star Venerable.
But Dark Star Venerable hadn't taken action in so long that the new generation didn't even know how powerful he truly was, leaving behind only some inexplicable legends.
"Your drinks are ready, sir." The three-armed bartender quickly prepared two glasses of Xinyan Wine and said.
"Thanks." Sett took the drinks and smiled.
"Phew, this is so good. If only I could drink this in the real world, how great would that be," Sanying said, taking a quick sip.
"Unfortunately, my master is a stingy one; he doesn't give me much money, just a little living allowance. A single glass of this in reality could actually increase one's strength," Sanying said, putting down his glass.
The glass was a foot tall, but Sanying was so large that a casual sip had already finished half of it.
"If there's a chance, we'll drink together," Sett said with a smile.
The two continued to talk about interesting news from the Killing Field or chat about their insights on cultivation.
"So, you're the one called Sett?" A man with two horns on his head walked up to Sett's side and said.
"Yeah, what about it? Looking for trouble or something?" Sett couldn't even be bothered to look at him.
"Why is it that every time I go for a drink, things never go smoothly?" Sett thought with a sigh.
"Do you dare to come with me?" the man with two horns continued.
The moment Sett entered the bar, he had been spotted by the informants of the Dark Star Venerable's head protector.
"Oh? Is there something wrong with your brain? Just because you tell me to go with you, I have to go? Who do you think you are, huh?" Sett took a sip of his drink and set the glass down.
"You brat, weren't you acting all tough a couple of days ago? Why are you chickening out now?" The horned man prepared to use reverse psychology to lure Sett back and complete his mission.
"Fine, let's see how impressive you really are. Lead the way!" Sett frowned, knowing this matter was a nuisance and wanting to resolve it as quickly as possible.
"Sett!" Sanying shouted, fearing that Sett would suffer a loss.
"It's fine, this is the Virtual Universe; they can't do anything to me." Sett reassured Sanying.
Sett followed the horned man out of the bar, and then his vision shifted as he arrived in a different space.
"Oh? So you're the one who bullied my disciple?" In the center of this space stood a grand hall.
This was a special plane opened up by the Virtual Universe for the Dark Star Universe Kingdom.
Sitting in the middle was a powerhouse with massive horns on his head, wearing dark armor, his gaze enough to make anyone tremble.
"It's me, so what?" Sett guessed that the powerhouse before him was the Dark Star Venerable, but he remained completely unfazed.
"So what? You ask me so what?" The Dark Star Venerable nearly choked on his own laughter; a mere Planetary level dared to speak to him like this.
"Do you know who I am? You dare to speak to me like that?" the Dark Star Venerable said.
"I know, you're the Dark Star Venerable, right? The ruler of the Dark Star Universe Kingdom, an Immortal God," Sett replied.
"Hmph! You know who I am and you're still this arrogant? It's fortunate this is the Virtual Universe; if we were in reality, I would have blown you to death with a single breath long ago," the Dark Star Venerable said.
Who would have thought that a dignified Immortal God would actually get angry at a little Planetary level brat? It was no wonder, as even a World Lord would be timid and submissive when meeting an Immortal God like the Dark Star Venerable.
But Sett wasn't afraid of him. Since it was the Virtual Universe, if he had the ability, he could come through the network cable and hit me, Sett thought to himself.
"So what? This is the Virtual Universe, what can you possibly do to me?" Sett said disdainfully.
"If you have the guts, come through the network cable and hit me, heh heh."
"You!" The Dark Star Venerable hadn't expected this little brat to be so shameless.
"Didn't your master teach you to show respect to the strong?" The Dark Star Venerable was so angry his horns were practically vibrating.
"There's nothing I can do about that. Your disciple was the one acting cocky first. I was sitting in my seat perfectly fine, and your disciple didn't say a polite word, instead demanding I give up my seat and attacking when I refused. It's not my fault he couldn't win; you can only blame your poor teaching."
"Besides, I'm only at the Planetary level, and your disciple is already at the Star level. If he can't win even then, are you going to protect him for the rest of his life?"
