Thirty days flew by in the blink of an eye. Ling Xuan had, without a doubt, claimed first place in the 77th World District and secured one of the spots for the Ganwu Universe Kingdom.

"Old Zhulong, why not let this kid of yours become my disciple? You old coot should stop wasting such a promising talent." A familiar King-level expert slung an arm over Zhulong King's shoulder and teased him.

"Go cool your heels somewhere else." Zhulong King brushed the man's hand away, then returned to his residence to see Ling Xuan.

"Brother Zhulong, don't be a stranger." Several King-level experts who genuinely thought highly of Ling Xuan hurried after him.

"If you take him on, all you'll do is make him your junior. Better to let me have him. One more teacher means one more path!"

"Get lost, all of you. You think I don't know what you're up to? And stop calling me 'old Zhulong.' I'm still in my prime—it's time to work hard and strive!"

The group left amid laughter and playful bickering.

"How am I shameless? I just like the look of this kid. Can't I say hello?" King Tieniu stuck out his neck and puffed out his broad chest, shoving his friend aside with his pectoral muscles.

"Ancestor..." Seeing this, Ling Xuan felt a little uneasy and instinctively moved behind Zhulong King. These "weird uncles" were far too enthusiastic; he was afraid they might lead him astray.

"Don't be nervous. These are all old friends who have stood by me through life and death over the past few billion years." Zhulong King smiled and waved a hand, reassuring Ling Xuan.

Just as he'd said, despite his age of several trillion eras, he was still in his prime and ready to strive. These were all close friends he had made in the past few billion years.

"All right, all right. You lot, tone it down. We can talk after the competition's over!" Zhulong King watched his friends and couldn't help laughing, though he was also a little exasperated. He hurried over and ushered them out one by one.

"Zhulong, this kid's a real talent. If he plans to take a master, make sure I'm his first choice!"

"What do you know? I'm the one who knows how to teach disciples. With all that brute strength of yours, how could you teach this uncut jade?"

The King-level experts, usually so aloof and imposing, were now like children squabbling over candy. They argued noisily as they left Zhulong King's palace, leaving only their hearty laughter echoing inside.

The moment the King-level experts had left, the air in the palace suddenly twisted. A voice full of authority rang out. "Zhulong, it's been a long time."

"Ganwu?" Zhulong King asked, puzzled. "You're not thinking of making a play for Ling Xuan too, are you?"

"I know you can call on those great beings, and I have no intention of interfering. But if this kid can achieve a better result, that'll benefit me too." Ganwu Kingdom Lord didn't take offense at Zhulong, a King-level expert, addressing him by his title so casually. He actually felt it was only natural.

"True. You've fallen several times in a row and wound up in debt up to your ears. All you can do is nurture geniuses to earn Supreme Treasure points and pay it off." Zhulong King grinned. "Come on, let's see how much you're willing to put up."

"You've died no fewer times than I have." Ganwu Kingdom Lord glared at Zhulong King. "Cut the crap. If this kid makes it into the Giant Axe Secret Realm, I can get at least 0.1 Supreme Treasure points. If he can beat that guy, he'll be worth at least one."

"Then you'd better prepare some good stuff. You may be short on Supreme Treasure points, but you're richer than I am," Zhulong King said.

"Don't come crying poor to me. You old coot are richer than most Universe Overlords!" Ganwu Kingdom Lord said with disdain.

Honestly, Ganwu Kingdom Lord didn't know Zhulong King's full story. All he knew was that when he himself had been a little nobody, the old coot had already been a King-level Immortal.

After countless years, he had gone from being a nobody to a high-level Universe Venerable who shook the universe, and had even been appointed a Universe Country Lord. The other man, however, had only gone from an ordinary King-level Immortal to the limit of King Rank.

But Zhulong King seemed to have powerful connections. Every time he fell, he was immediately placed on the resurrection list. It had never been delayed.

Unlike himself, who had been barred from going out and causing trouble after dying just three times, and had ended up drowning in debt. Who knew how long it would take to pay it off?

At the thought of all the debts he owed, Ganwu Kingdom Lord couldn't help sighing. It was all because he'd been stubborn and refused to quit after losing.

Not only had he lost his own Supreme Treasures, but he'd also lost the Supreme Treasures he had borrowed from his friends.

Ling Xuan immediately sat down cross-legged and carefully pondered its deeper meaning.

"Thank you, Lord," Ling Xuan said politely.

"No need to thank me. Train hard and try to become worth one Supreme Treasure point."
