The office.
A spacious office with enormous floor-to-ceiling windows. This was none other than the office of Rupert Murdoch, owner of 20th Century Fox and News Corporation.
"Come in!"
A deep voice came from inside. Only then did Wendi, the secretary standing outside, lead Alexander and Billia into the office.
"Zucker sent you to deliver an invitation to Kung Fu Panda?" Murdoch asked, smiling at the two of them.
Alexander wasn't at all surprised that Murdoch had guessed why they were there. "Mr. Murdoch, this is an invitation to the premiere of the animated film Kung Fu Panda. My boss hopes to welcome you in person three days from now."
"Certainly. Tell him I'll be there," Murdoch replied.
The whole exchange was brief!
In fact, it was remarkably simple, without the slightest fuss.
Alexander and Billia had barely been inside the office for thirty seconds before they came back out.
"Do you think it was surprisingly simple?"
Alexander asked as they walked.
"Exactly."
Billia said gravely, "I know my boss and Murdoch are close friends, and that they often attend each other's film premieres, but... didn't Murdoch even ask about his work schedule? Did he just assume he'd definitely be free three days from now?"
Alexander laughed. "That's the understanding between billionaires. You should learn from it."
"Hey, hey, hey! Couldn't you say a little more? What kind of explanation is that?!"
Billia pressed.
"Nope!"
Alexander tossed out those two words, then strode off without giving him another thought.
In truth, Alexander was delighted. In the few short hours since meeting Billia, he'd gotten a thorough taste of Billia's "backstabbing" and "sharp-tongued" side, and had been put in his place several times. Now he'd gotten his revenge, and he couldn't help feeling pleased.
Later on...
