Kung Fu Panda's Premiere!

The Kung Fu Panda premiere officially began!

Stephen Hillenburg, CEO of Water World Animation and the film's director, David Maisel, one of the directors, and the rest of the creative team took the stage first to answer questions from the reporters.

What about Zucker?

"You're really not going up there today?" Murdoch teased.

Zucker waved a hand and laughed. "Forget it. When Blue Sky Studios released Ice Age, you didn't take the stage yourself either."

Murdoch looked astonished. "You've changed a lot. This isn't like you at all. I remember that whenever your company had a major production, you'd make a big fuss about it and personally show up to promote it."

"Exactly!"

John Lasseter, the leader of the Pixar Five Tigers, chimed in from beside them. "When Finding Nemo came out, you were really something else. You went on and on in front of the media about how great it was, and even went on your own WB Television Network to promote it. But this time... you're unusually low-key!"

"Don't give me that. Water World Animation was at a critical stage back then. We were planning to go public, so of course I had to show up and promote it myself."

Zucker replied, exasperated.

When you were the boss promoting your own company's movie, you naturally gave it everything you had.

Just look at Jobs, the head of Pixar Animation. Back in 1995, to help Pixar Animation catch the wave of public offerings, he shamelessly put himself out there—more shamelessly than Zucker ever had.
