Even Third-Order Commanders Need to Rotate
In the polluted woodland of Companion Star S-1, the Star Runes spread across the dry riverbed suddenly dimmed for half a moment. The rock layers, previously pressed down until they cracked, sprang upward. Dust swept along the riverbed into the forest, and the gravity weighing down the juvenile beast loosened as well.
The Polluted Star Beast Juvenile immediately sensed the change. It abruptly pushed up its front half, causing the center of the riverbed to bulge. Cracks raced toward both banks, and the nearby crystalline trees tilted with them. The humus dressing that had just been changed on its abdomen could not withstand the strain, and blackish-purple blood quickly seeped out.
The Star Spirit commander on the western bank pressed his staff downward. The entire riverbed crashed down, and the juvenile beast's foreclaws slammed back onto the rock. The hand gripping his staff had already begun to tremble, and the ground around the Star Runes had sunk much lower than before.
If a Third-Order Commander unleashed his full strength, he could overturn the riverbed and woodland before him together. But now, he had to suppress a creature of the same tier for a prolonged period while avoiding the juvenile beast's badly wounded abdomen. If his power was even slightly weaker, the beast would break free; if his suppression was even slightly off, he might crush it outright. This kind of sustained, precise control drained the mind far more than a brief frontal clash.
"Everyone, withdraw from the Star Runes." He looked toward both sides of the riverbed. "My replacement is here. During the handover, no one enters the Star Rune range."
The players had been waiting for those words. The people responsible for changing the dressing tossed aside their long-handled bone hooks, while the
