Watching his cousin being beaten until he screamed, Kasa glared at the soldiers.
"Snap!"
A whip lashed fiercely across Kasa's body, its terrifying barbs tearing a chunk of flesh straight from his skin, leaving blood to flow continuously from the wound.
"What are you looking at?" the Black-Clad Soldier holding the whip barked coldly.
"Ahhh..."
Feeling the intense pain, Kasa let out an instinctive scream.
Seeing this scene from the side, his cousin's eyes were filled with rage.
"Which slave merchant house do you belong to?"
"We are from the Rivas Family, backed by the Saint Domain. Release us now..."
Snap!
The response to Kasa's cousin was the Black-Clad Soldier's whip, delivered without a moment's hesitation.
"Noisy!" The Black-Clad Soldier looked on with utter disdain.
The Black-Clad Soldier driving the carriage heard the commotion inside and let out a scornful sneer.
"These scions of great families are truly stupid. At a time like this, they still haven't realized their own status!"
Inside the carriage, Kasa and his cousin, having been taught a series of lessons, huddled in the corner, no longer daring to make a sound.
Through the iron bars of the window, Kasa could vaguely make out the scene outside.
This was a massive caravan.
There were dozens of carriages in total, of which only seven or eight were small carriages like the one Kasa was in, each equipped with one driver and one guard.
The number of people imprisoned in these carriages was small, mostly only one or two, and like Kasa, they were all shackled with Anti-Magic Stone, clearly indicating they were mages.
The larger carriages, which were the most numerous, were much more chaotic than the small ones; the people inside were packed together so densely they were practically crushed against one another.
Moreover, whenever someone inside made too much noise, a Black-Clad Soldier would walk over and stab them to death with a spear through the iron bars, then toss their body into the wilderness.
"Ah!"
As the Black-Clad Soldier killed another person, the bald man in black robes riding a tall horse in the center of the procession glanced over.
"The carriage is a bit roomier now, so they shouldn't be crushed to death. From now on, use discipline as the primary method; don't kill too many. If the numbers aren't enough later, we'll have to go back out."
"Yes, Lord Ming Hong!" the Black-Clad Soldier replied respectfully.
The procession continued on its way, soon leaving the sphere of influence of the Zhongyuan Empire and entering the territory of the Dark Night Principality.
The caravan slowly drove into a pitch-black mountain range.
Deep within the mountains, sheltered by countless towering ancient trees, a base hidden in the darkness loomed in and out of sight.
Countless Black-Clad Soldiers stood guard with solemn expressions.
This was the destination of the bald man in black robes and his group.
"Lord Ming Hong, you've returned." A black-robed soldier opened the gate of the base and greeted the bald man with a smile.
"Hmm." The bald man in black robes grunted.
"The Lord won't be here for a while. Take those commoners to the dungeon first, and don't let them die. Take the mages to the pigsty and fatten them up as much as possible."
"Yes."
Soon, the Black-Clad Soldiers divided Kasa and the others into two groups.
Kasa and his cousin, along with a dozen other mages, were quickly escorted by the Black-Clad Soldiers into what the bald man had called the "pigsty."
It was a small room less than one square meter in size. Kasa was chained in the center of the room, and the Anti-Magic Stone on his hands had been removed.
Kasa's cousin was locked in another room.
The Black-Clad Soldier looked at Kasa with cold eyes, his voice icy.
"From now on, cultivate your mental energy obediently, or you won't get any food."
"Don't even think about escaping. Once you're caught, heh..."
The soldier sneered and walked away.
In the South Sea of the Azeron Continent, an elderly man with a kind face appeared.
The old man in blue robes wore a playful smile, his eyes flashing with sharp light as he looked at the Azeron Continent.
"It's been a hundred years since I last came to the continent. I wonder if there are any newly ascended Saint Domain experts."
"I'll find someone to ask."
The blue-robed old man's divine sense swept across the South Sea, instantly locking onto a Saint Domain expert cultivating deep on the seabed.
With a flicker of his figure, the blue-robed old man appeared silently before the Saint Domain expert.
"Peter, have there been any new Saint Domain experts on the continent recently?"
The Saint Domain expert addressed as Peter opened his eyes and immediately saw the old man.
"Lord Roger!"
Peter's face was filled with respect; even though his cultivation had been interrupted by the old man, he dared not show even the slightest hint of resentment.
This was simply because the Lord Roger before him was a true deity, and a Median God who stood above the three major deities at that.
He was also Roger, the Plane Overseer of the Ize Plane.
"My Lord, as far as I know, regarding newly ascended Saint Domain experts, among magical beasts, there is only one: a ninth-rank Sea Dragon in the North Sea that broke through to the Saint Domain about fifty years ago."
"What about humans? Are there any newly ascended Saint Domain experts?"
"Yes, yes, my Lord. As for newly ascended Saint Domain experts like the Sea Dragon, there are eight among humans that I am aware of," Peter recalled.
"Seven of them belong to the five major factions. The only one not affiliated with a major faction is the Flame Saint Xiao Yan, who suddenly appeared in the Starfire Kingdom a year ago."
Peter did not know about Lynn; after all, less than a week had passed since Lynn had made his move, and it would take at least another month or two for the news to reach the South Sea.
"Hmm."
Roger let out a hum, his gaze sweeping over Peter as a flicker of recollection appeared in his eyes.
"If I recall correctly, Peter, you have been in the Saint Domain for seven or eight hundred years now. Have you considered going to the Supreme God Realm?"
Facing Roger's inquiry, a look of distress appeared in Peter's eyes.
"My Lord, Peter is dull-witted. Having failed to comprehend the laws for seven or eight hundred years, I truly lack the confidence to head to the Supreme God Realm."
"It is precisely because you haven't comprehended them that you should go. The Supreme God Realm has a better environment than the material plane. Moreover, Saint Domain experts are extremely rare in the God Realm, no less so than in the material plane."
The Plane Overseer Roger stroked his beard and said earnestly.
In fact, Roger was not lying; aside from the Saint Domain main bodies that possessed divine clones, pure Saint Domain experts were indeed rare in the Divine Plane.
They were usually only found near major teleportation arrays, though they would quickly be hunted down by death-attribute deities.
"This..." Listening to the grand promise Roger painted, Peter felt a flicker of temptation.
"Once you have made up your mind, come find me in the depths of the ocean!"
Seeing Peter's interest, the playfulness hidden deep in Roger's eyes grew more intense.
As a Median God who had refined a godhead, Roger's pursuit of strength had long since become optional.
His only interest now was to trick Saint Domain experts and Lesser Gods from the material plane into heading to the Supreme God Realm just to pass the time.
Whoosh!
A Median God's speed in the material plane was incredibly fast.
A few seconds later, Roger descended upon the Starfire Kingdom.
His vast divine sense spread out from within his body, instantly locking onto Xiao Yan, who was currently cultivating.
"Eh... he comprehended the laws just after breaking through to the Saint Domain."
"He has quite a bit of talent." A flash of surprise crossed Roger's eyes.
