"From 12 noon to 1 p.m., that one-hour period is the 'rest period' for the Trial Room and Gravity Chamber. The assessments for prospective trainees and lessons for new trainees are usually held during that hour."

Yang Hui led them to the ninth floor and walked toward the far end of the hall.
The ninth-floor hall had several sofas where trainees could rest and chat. After training on the seventh and eighth floors, many of them came here to relax and talk before heading back to train.
That was why the bar on the first floor was more or less useless...
When the trainees saw Yang Hui bring Xu Ai and the others to the ninth floor, they were clearly puzzled, but didn't think much of it.
After all, it was already December. Everyone knew that the Elite Training Camp recruited trainees in February and March, so they figured these were probably staff inspecting the equipment in the three rooms.

Was that man going to join the Training Camp, too? What kind of connections did he have to get the same treatment!?
Whatever the trainees were thinking, Yang Hui had already led the group to the far end of the hall.
A beam of light swept over Yang Hui, Xu Ai, and the others at the Gravity Chamber's entrance. The door beeped and opened.
Xu Ai and the others went inside.
The entire Gravity Chamber was made of an unknown metal in alternating bands of yellow and black. Beside the entrance was a control panel that looked incredibly high-tech.
After briefly telling them about Hong's "great" achievement of leaving a fist mark in the Gravity Chamber, Yang Hui got down to business.
"Xu Xin and Luo Feng are both Low-level War Generals. Their limit is nine times gravity."
As he spoke, Yang Hui tapped the control panel. Numbers appeared on its screen: "1, 2, 3..."
Luo Feng wasn't sure what was happening, but Xu Xin, who had experienced this many times before, immediately braced herself.
When the number reached "9," an invisible pressure slammed down on all four people in the Gravity Chamber.
Yang Hui and Xu Ai merely felt an extra force weighing on them. Given their physical conditioning, nine times gravity barely affected them.
Xu Xin and Luo Feng, on the other hand, had a different experience. Xu Xin was fine because she'd prepared in advance, but Luo Feng was caught off guard. The sudden force nearly knocked him flat on the floor.

Yang Hui really couldn't help laughing. Watching a new trainee get caught off guard was just too amusing.
Luo Feng didn't feel embarrassed. On the contrary, he thought the Gravity Chamber was great!
"So this is the Gravity Chamber. It really is different from ordinary weight training."

After Luo Feng had trained for a little while, Yang Hui turned off the gravity.
"Alright, next we're going to the Trial Room. It's the second most important room in the entire Training Camp."
The Gravity Chamber was naturally the most important.
Yang Hui opened the Gravity Chamber door and led them to the Trial Room.
"Although you were specially recruited and don't need to take any assessments, you'll still use the Trial Room eventually. Let's give you a chance to try it out first."
The Gravity Chamber, Trial Room, and Challenge Room were all close together, just a few steps apart.

When the door opened, they saw two sofas, each with a dark blue helmet on it.

Yang Hui briefly explained the Consciousness Induction Helmets to Xu Xin and Luo Feng.
"Once you put on the Consciousness Induction Helmet, your consciousness will enter a virtual space with one hundred percent fidelity. It's exactly like the real world, and the trials take place inside it."
"One hundred percent fidelity?"
Luo Feng asked curiously. Xu Xin was curious, too. Xu Ai and Hen Ren both had one of these helmets, but Xu Xin couldn't use them.
"That's right. The technology of the Ancient Civilization was truly advanced. I wonder how they were wiped out..."
Yang Hui sighed.
"Never mind that. There are only two Consciousness Induction Helmets here. Luo Feng, you go first. Xu Xin, you can wait."
"Luo Feng, just follow my lead."
Luo Feng watched Yang Hui lie down on the sofa, then did the same.
"Then put on the helmet, and your consciousness will enter the virtual space. Don't panic."
At Yang Hui's gesture, Luo Feng put on the helmet. His head gave a sudden buzz, and when his vision cleared, he found himself on a vast, silvery-white plain.
Yang Hui didn't put on his helmet right away. Instead, he turned to Xu Ai and the others.
"Xu Xin, wait a moment. I'll explain things to Luo Feng, then give you my spot."
He didn't offer to let Xu Ai try it. The reason was simple: Xu Ai was a War God and could join the War God Palace.
She already had a Consciousness Induction Helmet and could log straight into the Trial Tower for a challenge, so there was no need for her to try this one out.
With that, Yang Hui put on a helmet and entered the virtual space, too.
Xu Ai waited with Xu Xin for a while. Yang Hui soon took off his helmet and got up.
"Alright, Xu Xin, your turn."
Yang Hui put the helmet back on the sofa and beckoned Xu Xin over.
With Yang Hui's guidance, Xu Xin lay down and put on the helmet. Her consciousness immediately entered the virtual space.
"It's almost 1 p.m. I wonder if they can get through the first layer, A-stage."
That was what she said, but she was really only talking about Xu Xin. Yang Hui knew Luo Feng's abilities well enough.
With the Fourth Layer of the Nine-Layered Thunder Blade, his Force Amplitude was 3.2 times, and he had Perfect Level footwork. His blade technique was a little weak, but getting through the first layer, A-stage, shouldn't be difficult.

She put on the combat suit, picked up the longsword, and entered the Trial Tower as well.
