That was Cai Yi's first thought before she opened her eyes.
When she opened them, she found herself inside a chamber filled with liquid. The liquid didn't hurt when it touched her eyeballs. In fact, her eyes felt quite comfortable.
Could this be Nutrient Solution?
Cai Yi sank into her consciousness, and in an instant, the inheritance memories from her mother flooded into her mind.
First, according to her inheritance memories, her two mothers were named Isabella and Evangeline. Isabella was an Invincible King, while Evangeline was a World Lord.
Next came some general knowledge about the Zerg. For example, Zerg Mother Empresses had no gender, though their appearance resembled human women. If they had strong feelings for each other, they would become partners, just like her two mothers, Isabella and Evangeline.
There were two reasons for this: emotional companionship, and the reproduction of Zerg Mother Empresses.
Zerg Mother Empresses didn't need a man and a woman to reproduce as humans did. Instead, they created life by expending life energy.
Creating a Zerg Mother Empress required far more life energy than creating an ordinary Zerg Warrior, leaving the mother empress weak for a long time.
It could even damage her foundation if anything went wrong. So unless a Zerg Mother Empress had been stuck at a cultivation bottleneck for a long time, she generally wouldn't consider having a child.
Likewise, a Zerg Mother Empress without a partner wouldn't consider having a child, either. She'd have no one to care for her and wouldn't feel safe!
Evangeline had spent too long as a World Lord, so she'd decided to have a child. That was how Cai Yi came into the world.
There were simply too many inheritance memories. Before Cai Yi could finish sorting through the rest, the Nutrient Solution had been fully absorbed.
'Beep! Beep!'
The Nutrient Chamber began to beep, and then its door slowly opened. Cai Yi looked over and saw two stunning beauties peering inside.
Well, they really were "stunningly huge"—in every sense!
Adult Zerg were all over ten meters tall, and the two "mothers" before Cai Yi stood over twelve meters tall!
No wonder the Zerg were considered the most beautiful race in the Primal Universe. It wasn't just about looks; beauty was in the eye of the beholder.
For every race in the Primal Universe—and even across the Universe Ocean—to find Zerg Mother Empresses beautiful, their beauty had to transcend mere appearance!
"Cai Yi?"
The taller beauty waved a hand in front of Cai Yi. She was Isabella, an Invincible King.
Beside her stood a weaker-looking beauty: Evangeline, Cai Yi's birth mother.
Cai Yi froze for a moment. When she saw Isabella's pale, "little" hand, she immediately called out,
"Mom Isabella, Mom Evangeline."
"Mm."
Isabella happily lifted Cai Yi into her hands.
Well, "lifted" was exactly right. Only then did Cai Yi notice how small she was.
She was about two or three meters tall, and looked tiny in Isabella's hands. Isabella stood over fifteen meters tall.
Evangeline, still weak, leaned closer and gently poked Cai Yi's cheek with a jade-like finger.
"She's so adorable. We were this tiny when we were young, too."
"Yeah."
Isabella nodded, cradled Cai Yi in her arms, then flew off the planet with Evangeline.
They were now in outer space. Zerg Mother Empresses could naturally survive in the vacuum of space.
Cai Yi was a little bewildered and couldn't help asking,
"Where are we going?"
"To the Empress Universe."
"You've just been born, so we're taking you to the Empress Universe, where it's safe."
Evangeline smiled.
This was also how Zerg Mother Empresses were raised: they were born in the core region of the Primal Universe, where the chances of producing a genius were higher, then sent to the Zerg Queen's Miniature Universe to grow up.
That way, no one had to worry about a weak Zerg Mother Empress being captured and possessed, or being reduced to a Clone. Besides, most Zerg resources were stored in the Empress Universe, so they could grow faster there.
The transfer station for the Empress Universe wasn't far away, so they didn't teleport. They flew there directly.
At the transfer station, Cai Yi saw one or two other Zerg Mother Empresses holding tiny newborns. They, too, were sending their newborn Zerg Mother Empresses to the Empress Universe.
Isabella and Evangeline cheerfully greeted their sisters, and brought Cai Yi out to show her off to all the mother empresses.
The Human Race used a "Big Fish" to fly to the Initial Universe, while the Zerg used a "Seven-Star Ladybug" to fly to the Empress Universe!
Lying in Isabella's ample embrace, Cai Yi contentedly looked around inside the Seven-Star Ladybug.
Its interior wasn't made of metal, but of flesh and blood. The flesh was extremely tough, though; at least, Cai Yi didn't see the Zerg Mother Empresses sink into it as they walked around.
It was probably a biological weapon made by a Zerg Mother Empress who was a Universe Master, like the Zerg Warriors. But this Seven-Star Ladybug was used to transport them to the Empress Universe.
"Let's go!"
As Cai Yi was still looking around, the void trembled. Her face turned pale, and she suddenly felt terribly uncomfortable.
Have we entered the Cosmic Passage?
Cai Yi watched the newborn Zerg Mother Empresses who had already fainted and guessed.
In the original story, the "Big Fish" that carried people to the Initial Universe had its flow of time disrupted upon entering the Cosmic Passage, making many Universe Level geniuses feel sick.
This dizzying discomfort must be the sign that they'd entered the Cosmic Passage.
"Hmm?"
Isabella looked at Cai Yi, who was still dizzy but remained conscious, and was very surprised.
"Little Cai Yi, you're not dizzy?"
"I am. It feels awful, Mom."
Cai Yi knew that crying children got fed, so when Isabella asked, she immediately put on an expression that said, "I can't hold on much longer."
"There's nothing I can do about it, either. It'll pass soon, so just hang in there."
Isabella held Cai Yi close and spoke with concern.
There wasn't much she could do about this distortion of spacetime. Only if a Universe Master intervened to stabilize the spacetime around Cai Yi would the distortion stop affecting her.
Well, I suppose that makes sense...
Cai Yi buried her head in Isabella's soft embrace and nuzzled against her, dizzy but comfortable.
Even if I don't cry, I still have...
"Little Cai Yi hasn't fainted. She must have a very strong will."
The Zerg Mother Empress beside them was amazed.
Cai Yi had just been born and was only at Planetary Level Nine. Her mental strength couldn't possibly be enough to resist the effects of distorted spacetime. The only explanation was that she had tremendous willpower!
Willpower wasn't a secret among the Zerg Mother Empresses. There weren't many of them, after all, so there was little to hide.
Genius Zerg Mother Empresses generally had very strong wills.
Once Evangeline learned that Cai Yi was a genius, the Zerg Mother Empresses happily began chatting.
A few minutes later, the distortion of spacetime finally passed, and Cai Yi returned to normal.
"Our little Cai Yi really is a genius. She actually held on until the distortion of spacetime ended."
Evangeline said with relief. All her hard work had finally paid off.
"Mm, that's wonderful."
Isabella held Cai Yi and kissed her. Though the kiss was only a little kiss in comparison to Cai Yi's whole body, her soft lips brushed over Cai Yi's entire face.
The Seven-Star Ladybug flew for a while, then slowly descended and came to a stop.
"We're here."
Isabella and Evangeline stood up and disembarked from the Seven-Star Ladybug with the other Zerg Mother Empresses...
