| Rank 92 | 31 | His soul power rose by one rank after the battle with the Titan Snow Demon King, although his body had not fully recovered. |
History
Zheng Zhan serves as a royal retainer stationed in Mingdu. During a confrontation involving a prince, he blocks a powerful blade strike with his shield, preventing damage to the ground behind him but suffering injuries himself 2. After an assassination attempt against the young Fourth Prince Xu Lanqing, he is assigned to protect him 7.
Zheng Zhan accompanies Xu Lanqing and Jing Hongchen to the Far North in search of a first Soul Ring 8 12. When the party encounters the Titan Snow Demon King, Zheng Zhan repeatedly holds the creature off with his shield and is badly hurt. The battle nevertheless precedes his breakthrough to rank 92 14 15 31.
He later guards Xu Lanqing on a journey to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. When Clear Sky Castle elders attack, Zheng Zhan stays with Xu Lanqing inside a Soul Guidance Shield while Xiaobai holds the valley entrance. He then prepares fixed soul guidance shells for Xu Lanqing’s diversion plan 52 64 65 66. The Snow Empress subsequently entrusts him with delivering a Crystal Blood Dragon Ginseng to the emperor and Kong Deming 75.
Zheng Zhan continues to assist Xu Lanqing, guarding an alley during the attack on the Mystic Underworld Sect and later helping protect the imperial palace during Xu Tianran’s attempted strike 94 181.
Personality
Zheng Zhan is dutiful but candid about danger. He questions the wisdom of flying openly over a Soul Beast forest and becomes especially wary of the Far North after his encounter with the Titan Snow Demon King 31 55. He also recognizes the limits of his assignment: at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, he does not take valuable herbs without Xu Lanqing’s permission 60.
By the palace confrontation, he is more confident against other Title Douluo. He attributes his improvement in part to medicinal herbs that cleared the accumulated effects of pills in his body, as well as his experience alongside Xu Lanqing 181.
Abilities & Skills
Shield Defense
Zheng Zhan specializes in protecting others with a giant silver-white shield that is both a Rank Nine Soul Tool and his Martial Soul Avatar 14.
- His ninth soul skill adds an earthy-yellow rock layer to the shield and deploys a Rank Nine Soul Barrier 14.
- Silver-white metal can flow into the shield to repair damage, but repairs consume costly rare metals 14.
- His eighth soul skill lets him appear directly in an attacker’s path, which he uses repeatedly to obstruct the Titan Snow Demon King 15.
- His defenses can be overwhelmed: the Titan Snow Demon King shatters the barrier with one blow and severely injures him 14 15.
Soul Tool Use
- Zheng Zhan uses a black, wing-like flying Soul Tool with a two-meter span 9.
- He carries Level 8 fixed soul guidance shells to compensate for his limited offensive capability as a defense-focused Soul Master 65 66.
- During the Clear Sky Castle attack, he sets up a fixed soul guidance launcher and loads three explosive shells, including one supplied by Xu Lanqing 65 66.
