"How did the information leak?" John asked unhappily, forcibly suppressing his shock.
He did not care about the three factions that had been destroyed, but he could not ignore what this incident meant!
The plan had been underway for less than two days, yet word had already leaked. None of the participating factions knew anything about the other participants, and yet the Ghost Captain had located all three targets with such precision. That very likely meant... the problem lay within their own ranks!
"We have no leads whatsoever at present. Their response was astonishingly fast. We cannot rule out the possibility that they have a mole inside our organization!"
"Investigate! I want this thoroughly investigated! Also, how many troops did they deploy for this retaliation?"
Although John was annoyed that the operation had been disrupted before it could even begin, they had at least partially achieved their objective of testing the Ghost Captain's strength. Those three targets were not especially powerful, but they were certainly no pushovers.
"Well... according to our intelligence, it was... three Ghost Knights, along with around three Airborne Ghosts."
"What? You're saying they defeated an armed base with over a thousand men using three Ghost Knights and three aircraft?" John asked incredulously.
"No... that's not it!" The reply over the phone allowed John to relax slightly, but then...
"It wasn't three at each base. They only sent one Ghost Knight to each base. There... there were three in total," the man reporting through the Communicator said with difficulty.
"What?!" The two elderly men could hardly believe their ears.
One knight against a thousand? Wasn't that a little too ridiculous?
If that was true, what had their probing operation accomplished? Establishing that the enemy had at least three Ghost Knights?
Compared with the two mentioned in the
