Lately, all personnel entering and leaving the bridge had been extremely careful, afraid to make even their footsteps too loud, because their commander, Gustav, had been exceptionally irritable.
With the wormhole still holding out against their prolonged assault and the war on Kara Star going poorly, Gustav had naturally been called to account by the military. Recently, there had even been rumors that a new commander would arrive to replace him.
Today alone, Gustav had already spent ages berating three subordinates for their failures, his face thunderous. Nobody wanted to be the next target of his misplaced anger.
One unlucky staff officer approached Gustav, looking sick under his colleagues' sympathetic gazes, and cautiously began his report.
"Sir! Lord Gustav, Kara Star Ground Forces Command has sent a report. Just now, an anomalous source of tremors was detected inside Kara Star. After analysis, our Army General Staff cannot rule out the possibility that the Kara Civilization is conducting some kind of underground weapons test!"
"Oh?" Gustav grunted, frowning.
A weapons test by the Kara Civilization? What worthwhile weapons could these natives possibly be testing?
In the past, Gustav would probably have merely sneered. But ever since the Kara Civilization had acquired his side's biological weapons and Shockwave Weapons, he had realized that his true opponent was probably someone else.
As a competent commander, he never underestimated an opponent lightly, especially one who had already caused him so much trouble!
"How powerful is this weapon?" Gustav asked.
"According to the AI Core's simulations, the weapon isn't particularly powerful, but its effects covered almost half of Kara Star, causing severe earthquakes and displacement across several continental plates.
