"What was going on with that ship?"
Viscount Ironwall watched the Speedster with a peculiar expression as it charged straight toward them, making thoroughly unprofessional S-shaped, B-shaped, and other evasive maneuvers.
"Your Lordship, our operation appears to have been exposed ahead of schedule. This ship came through from the other side the moment the wormhole opened," his adjutant said awkwardly.
Viscount Ironwall frowned.
An enemy ship? How was that possible?
Had they already discovered this sealed intermittent wormhole?
Wasn't this system supposed to have been developed only a few years ago? This wormhole had closed centuries ago, and every trace of its fluctuations had long since vanished. How could they possibly have found it?
Even the Wulf Empire couldn't detect a sealed intermittent wormhole. Could their wormhole detection technology actually be more advanced than ours?
Unbelievable as it was, the truth was right before him. They had only just opened the passage, yet the enemy had beaten them through it.
And it looked like a rather disreputable little cargo ship...
Having their movements discovered early was one thing, but if the enemy had laid an ambush on the other side of the wormhole...
"No! This is just a cargo ship. Even if they did already know this wormhole's coordinates, they don't look prepared. Otherwise, they would have sent at least a military reconnaissance ship."
He quickly dismissed that hypothesis.
A coincidence? Perhaps a merchant ship happened to be passing by and blundered into it?
"Order the vanguard fleet to investigate the other side immediately and blockade the wormhole. Send several high-speed warships to dispose of that ship as quickly as possible, too. We cannot let it report back!" Viscount Ironwall ordered.
"Yes, sir!"
What Viscount Ironwall did not realize, however, was that while this was an ordinary cargo ship, its
