They were basically just there to lend a hand; Pain was responsible for the true core of the sealing work.

The current Akatsuki consisted of Pain, Konan, Black and White Zetsu, Tobi, Orochimaru, and Simu's group of three, for a total of seven people.

"That still isn't ten people..." Hidan complained. The learning scroll clearly stated that this Sealing Technique required ten people to activate together.

Upon hearing Hidan's question, Tobi instantly appeared beside him and chimed in, "Right? Right? Hidan-senpai, I said the same thing earlier, and the leader chewed me out for it!"

Seeing this, Pain could only sigh and explain helplessly, "The Phantom Dragons Nine Consuming Seals works best when performed by ten people, but that does not mean seven people cannot perform it."

But Hidan was clearly not so easily convinced. "If seven people can perform it, why does it say ten people?"

"Exactly, exactly!"

The masked man, Tobi, echoed him.

Pain could only add, "It will take longer with seven people, around seven days. With ten people, three days would be enough."
