"Ever wondered what it feels like to fly through the sky like a bird?"
Ezio suddenly turned to look at Pheobe beside him.
"W-what?"
"That's what freedom feels like!"
Her body suddenly felt weightless. Pheobe realized Ezio had swept her into his arms and was standing lightly on the very top of the tall tower. He rose onto his toes.
"What are you doing—ah!!!"
As Ezio leaned forward, the wind howling past their ears grew louder. The tower's peak drifted farther and farther away. When she turned her head, she saw the flower-covered ground rushing up to meet her.
"Ezio!!!"
Pheobe, terrified out of her wits, clung tightly to the troublemaker's head. She didn't dare look down, and one thought kept echoing in her mind: I'm going to die! I'm going to die! I'm going to die!
Time stopped for an instant. The howling wind vanished, and the silence felt as if they'd entered the underworld. Amid the stillness, the sweet scent of flowers wafted toward them.
Pheobe opened her eyes a crack. Below her was Beauxbatons, its entire grounds blanketed in flowers. She was now at the foot of the tall tower, surrounded by blossoms.
"Can you let go now?"
Ezio's muffled voice came from her chest. Pheobe, who was still clinging to him with her whole body, looked down, then balled her fist in embarrassment and anger and bonked him on the head.
"If you want to die, don't drag me down with you!"
Pheobe grabbed Ezio's face with both hands and kneaded it furiously, still grinding her teeth in exasperation.
"But we're fine, aren't we?" Ezio replied calmly, glancing at the line of new text that had just appeared:
