The instant that voice rang out, Onigumo and Momonga's expressions changed sharply. Both drew their swords, while the surrounding Marines raised their guns in unison and aimed them at the rooftop.
"Hey, hey, don't be so tense, little brats."
Amid that sinister voice, the ground suddenly split open. Thick green vines rapidly sprouted from between the bricks, and the figure on the roof gracefully slid down to the ground along them.
A Paramecia, the Woods-Woods Fruit?
Noah raised an eyebrow slightly at the sight.
Only then did the others get a clear look at the newcomer in the moonlight.
He was a middle-aged man in his early forties, dressed in a white suit with a rose pinned to his chest. His features were handsome, his appearance somewhat effeminate, and he carried the lofty air unique to those in power.
"Lord Rey!"
The CP-0 agents' faces changed dramatically. Wilson, their captain, turned pale and stammered, "Y-you... didn't you say you would wait for us at the secret base in the North Blue? Why are you..."
"Why am I here?"
The middle-aged man in the white suit known as Lord Rey lowered his head to sniff the rose and smiled.
"Of course, I was curious. After you conscientious fellows ruined the plan, I simply couldn't resist coming over to see what had become of White Town."
"Vice Admiral."
While Rey was speaking with Wilson, Momonga leaned close to Noah and whispered gravely, "I've heard the name Rey before. If I remember correctly, this man should be one of CP-0's deputy directors."
A deputy director of CP-0?
Noah nodded lightly and looked at the man thoughtfully.
So he was the number three, or perhaps number four, figure in the entire Cipher Pol organization?
After becoming part of the Navy's upper
