Even the fastest warship needed at least a full day and night to travel from Marine Headquarters to Mary Geoise.
For him, however, it took only a few hours.
He had landed beside a bustling main thoroughfare. The manor on his right was still brightly lit, and desperate pleas drifted faintly to his ears from time to time.
The Celestial Dragons had been indulging themselves all night and still had not stopped.
Noah turned to look.
"Saint Rosward, Saint Charlos, I... I really can't drink any more. P-please..."
"Enough nonsense! My son wants to know how much water you Merfolk can drink before your bellies burst. If I tell you to keep drinking, you drink! Until I say stop, you're not allowed to stop!"
An elderly voice barked coldly.
"Drink! Keep drinking! I've been waiting forever, and there are still twenty barrels left! Come on, don't stop!"
A young boy's voice urged her on impatiently, then gave a curious little gasp:
"Huh? Daddy, why isn't she moving?"
"Hmph... she's dead already. Useless thing. Carry her away! Bring in the next one."
Boom!
An instant later, a bolt of lightning tore through the wall and engulfed the entire living room. Two figures, one large and one small, were reduced to ashes in its glare.
After a brief, deathly silence, terrified screams from the servants filled the manor.
Out on the street.
Noah lowered his index finger without sparing the manor another glance. Instead, he raised his head and looked along the broad, red-carpeted avenue toward the sprawling, majestic buildings several kilometers to the north.
Having attended the Reverie twice, he was no stranger to the Holy Land of Mary Geoise. Those buildings were, of course, the headquarters of the World Government.
