In the blink of an eye, more than two months had passed since the special training with the Third Hokage. During that week, Fuyuki hadn't learned any powerful ninjutsu, but his proficiency in the Gentle Fist had skyrocketed.
Furthermore, his Summoning Technique had also been honed, and Fuyuki was no longer lacking in practical combat experience.
Just because the Third Hokage wouldn't strike with lethal force didn't mean he went easy on the three of them. When it came to hand-to-hand combat, combined with the insight of the Byakugan, it wasn't just Fuyuki bragging—beating up an average Chunin wasn't a difficult task.
The prerequisite, of course, was that no one used Chakra, sticking strictly to physical combat practice.
"Today is another day full of energy!"
Under the stunned gaze of Hyuga Hiashi, Fuyuki, right in front of the clansmen, brazenly took his maid and skipped class. With the Great Elder watching, he strolled out of the Main Branch compound to go shopping.
"Hiashi," the Great Elder started, then stopped, unable to find the words.
Hyuga Hiashi's face darkened, but he continued the lesson as if nothing had happened.
There was simply no managing this stubborn brat. He had no idea whose genes Fuyuki had inherited; he was born with an "I am the best in the world" attitude. No matter how much Hiashi tried to reason with him, put on a stern face, or use intimidation, Fuyuki remained as indifferent as a dead pig that feared no boiling water.
As long as his strength didn't lag behind and he didn't drag the noble etiquette through the mud, Hiashi couldn't be bothered to care anymore. He wanted to live a few more years, lest he be angered to death by this rebellious son.
Fuyuki wasn't heading to the Hokage Rock or the forest today; he was genuinely out for a leisurely stroll.
Last night, Hiashi had called him and Hinata to the Main Branch living room to inform them they would be participating in the Ninja Academy's October entrance exams. His reason? There was no reason. If he had to give one, it was: "I am your father, is that enough?"
Hiashi had always been expressionless and stingy with his words, often wearing a sour face to scare people. Come to think of it, when the Hyuga clan members kept a straight face, their Byakugan emitted a strange, eerie chill that was genuinely quite frightening.
Although Hyuga Hiashi didn't give a reason for the enrollment, it wasn't hard for Fuyuki to guess his thoughts.
This year's Ninja Academy class was destined to be extraordinary, with heirs from all of Konoha's major bloodline and secret technique clans present. Coupled with the Uchiha clan next door, who had been stealing the spotlight for the past few years—Uchiha Itachi had dominated the academy single-handedly, often leaving Hiashi to sit in silent contemplation before the ancestral tablets.
Therefore, Hiashi was sending him and Hinata to the academy to build connections with the other clan heirs and to suppress the second son of Uchiha Fugaku, ensuring the Uchiha didn't walk all over the Hyuga clan.
Aside from these two reasons, Fuyuki couldn't think of anything else worth Hiashi sending him to school for.
One had to know that as a prestigious Konoha family, one of the Hyuga clan's privileges was not needing to attend the Ninja Academy. They could receive their headbands directly from the Hokage to participate in the Chunin Exams, without wasting six years of their lives in the boring academy.
Of course, one couldn't rule out that the old man just wanted to be rid of them so he wouldn't have to look at them.
Since he could go to the Ninja Academy, it meant he didn't need to participate in the Hyuga clan's intensive training. He would have plenty of time to practice his "Xuanmo Summoning Magic." If he buried his head and developed his summoning magic for six years, by the time he graduated, he might just be able to take flight with a single "whoosh."
With time so abundant, Fuyuki naturally began to care about things other than cultivation.
For example, the various shops that frequently appeared in the original story: the ninja tool store, the Nara clan's apothecary, the Yamanaka clan's flower shop, Yakiniku Q, and so on. He was genuinely curious if Yakiniku Q was really that delicious.
Otherwise, why would Akimichi Choji ask Sarutobi Asuma to treat him to a feast at Yakiniku Q every chance he got?
Unfortunately, Fuyuki's wish was destined to fall through. In the sweltering heat of May, a dark, heavy cloud suddenly drifted over, and hailstones the size of fists began to pelt down on Konoha from high above.
Fuyuki was shocked. He had heard of frost in June, but why was it hailing in May?
Reasonably speaking, the Land of Fire had winters, but they only ever saw light snow, never hail!
Natsumi pulled her palms to her chest and struck out. The compressed Chakra was released instantly, forming a wind pressure that blew away the hailstones about to strike young master Fuyuki. "Young Master, let's go! The weather is so abnormal; I fear someone is acting recklessly again."
The dark clouds in the sky contained no Chakra, but for hailstones with such terrifying lethality to exist without someone controlling them—Natsumi, as a Chunin, certainly didn't believe it. This time, it was likely a lone wolf-style attack against Konoha.
Since its founding, Konoha had been stained with blood, having wiped out countless ninja villages and bloodline clans.
Every few years, there were always some remnants of bloodline clans who didn't know their place and came to Konoha to stir up trouble.
However, very few could actually break into the village. The Hyuga clan served as the first line of defense at the borders, and the Uchiha Police Force guarded the village interior. These lone wolves usually fell into the hands of the Torture and Interrogation Force to undergo questioning before they even saw an Anbu or a regular ninja.
"What a drag, I finally had the mood to go shopping," Fuyuki complained, then folded his hands to pray: "I hope the ninja controlling the hail meets with an accident right now!"
As soon as Fuyuki finished speaking, the hail in the sky stopped immediately. A terrifying gale blew, carrying low-temperature snowflakes to form a snow tornado that slammed down directly toward Fuyuki's forehead.
"I hope your whole family meets with an accident."
Fuyuki muttered under his breath and quickly took his maid to make a run for it.
The caster was currently hiding somewhere, and the dark clouds in the sky were merely a secret technique. Fuyuki had no interest in pitting himself against Chakra; he wasn't foolish enough to get angry at a cloud formed by a secret art.
The best thing to do now was to leave, then use his Byakugan to find the caster and file a report!
"Hmm? Why is Fuyuki being chased by a tornado?"
The first to notice something amiss was the Third Hokage. He possessed a crystal ball connected to the Konoha Barrier, which allowed him to view any corner of the village.
The Third had been inspecting the nutritional intake of Konoha's residents when he noticed the clouds in the sky. He had ordered the Sensor Division to investigate and sent an Anbu squad to assist those injured by the hail.
Yet, while searching for the wounded, he discovered a scene that was extremely comical.
A snow tornado, half a meter thick, was chasing after Fuyuki as he retreated.
The speed of the snow tornado wasn't fast, and it couldn't catch up to Fuyuki and Natsumi at all. The Third could even see a hint of frustration in the tornado, as if it felt a great grievance for not being able to hit the two people in front of it.
Initially, the Third watched with a chuckle. He knew Fuyuki's strength; even if this snow tornado actually hit him, it would at most leave him soaked.
A ninja getting hit by snow? That would truly be a joke!
However, the next second, the dark clouds in the sky struck with lightning speed, sending a bolt of lightning directly onto Fuyuki and Natsumi. It froze their casual, strolling retreat in place, and the snow tornado behind them arrived right on cue.
"Young Master Fuyuki, are you alright?"
The lightning looked impressive, but its lethality wasn't great—at most, it was the power of a D-rank Lightning Release.
However, Natsumi's meticulously groomed, silky black hair had turned into an afro, and her face was smudged with patches of black and white, making her look absolutely ridiculous.
Fuyuki's eye twitched slightly as he touched his own long hair; thankfully, it hadn't turned into an afro, but his clothes were tattered, and his face and hands were covered in soot.
"Haa," Fuyuki exhaled, looking up at the dark clouds in the sky and roaring, "You're dead meat! Not even the First Hokage can stop me today, I swear it!"
Fuyuki had never been a person with a good temper; it was just that he usually spent his time with Hinata and his little sister, having his inner irritability smoothed over by two cute angels. How could a guy who used to be active on the stage of Zaun in his past life possibly have a good temper!
PS: I switched to a new phone and I'm not used to typing on it; the speed is super slow, and the screen has a green tint that looks awful, like it's stuck in eye-protection mode. It's incredibly annoying.
