The first layer of the Immortal Path was the "Gate of All Wonders," and it connected countless planets. However, this level was generally only used for travel within a planetary system.
Curiously, the exit of the Gate of All Wonders could be located on any planet, but ordinary planets could not enter the Gate of All Wonders. To enter it, one could only pass through an Immortal Gate.
Immortal Gates existed only within the gravitational spheres of planets that possessed, or had once possessed, life, and they were usually affected by satellites as well. Other than such places, it was impossible to enter the Immortal Path anywhere else.
Take Shenzhou Houtu, for instance. Traveling from Shenzhou Houtu to any planet in this star system was simple, but returning meant making the journey back oneself.
Once Tailin and Honglian entered the Immortal Path, it meant they had already prepared to resist. Once they left the Immortal Path, they could only hold their ground here to the bitter end. Nor did they have time left to change tactics.
At a starship's speed, even ordinary travel within a stellar system took days, or even dozens of days.
Very quickly, Tianze Shenjun's spiritual sense felt itself leaving this "plane" in some unfathomable direction. He rose to some higher place. The entire Tian Nan planetary system entered his awareness through a faster-than-light field of view, revealing an aspect normally impossible to see.
Tianze Shenjun gradually lost himself in it.
This was the sensation every intelligent being experienced while passing through the Immortal Path.
No matter how tremendous the achievements of the human race of Shenzhou were, no matter how weighty the Demon Race's history was, no matter how tragic the dragon race's two hundred million years of struggle and breakthroughs had been, all their pride
