From August 4 to August 25, over the course of twenty days, the fifty-nine chapters of the extra volume, The Record of Knotted Cords, officially came to an end.

For me, writing this volume had been incredibly stressful.

I lost followers, monthly votes, Great God Light, and even my average subscriptions.

Especially average subscriptions—those were an author's lifeblood.

But I dared say that, so far, this extra volume was the best part of this book.

This section truly counted as a hardcore science fiction story.

Every technology and theory mentioned within—knots, collective lifeforms, the chirality of organic molecules—had participated in the plot. They were all part of the plot. None of these elements could be removed.

Moreover, every clue had appeared at least twice. For this section of the plot, every piece of foreshadowing had a reason to exist.

Many works that flaunted themselves as "hard science fiction," even many published physical books, did not strike me as any stronger. I even felt that with a few slight revisions, this could be published outright.

This was my "breakthrough." I was truly happy to have written this section.

But then again, this section of the plot had also been the most brain-burning one so far. I was exhausted in both body and mind. Writing for such a long time had left me utterly worn out as well. Tomorrow, I would take a day off and sort through my thoughts for what came next.

The day after tomorrow, that guy named Wang Qi would appear before everyone once again.

Finally, thank you to every reader who subscribed to
