Wang Qi entered that special state once again—or rather, experienced it for the first time.
What a novel sensation. "His" memories told him that he had experienced this state before. Yet at that same moment, "Wang Qi" should have been sleeping in the Western Sea.
At one and the same moment, he actually possessed "two" sets of memories.
But then, he suddenly realized that the concept of "time"—or rather, humanity's psychological time—did not exist here.
Einstein had once said that time was merely a stubborn illusion. From the perspective of a Sea God, that was indeed true. All memories surged like flowing water.
It was liquid thought.
—How many of me are there?
—The total is probably nearing a thousand. "Mi" has condensed far more than one brain.
—Is that so? Even six-thousandfold acceleration wasn't enough?
—Perhaps that was a demand from "Wang Qi."
—Absurd. I would never do such a thing.
—I would.
—Why did we need so much time? "I" spent around eighty years within the mindscape spacetime!
—Those were merely "memories." It was like reading eighty years of your own diaries, yet knowing essentially nothing about that stretch of memory. "My" psychological age was still twenty.
—I won't dwell on that sort of question. My question is, what was all that time for?
Without experimental verification, with only empty theoretical deductions, theoretical physics could not advance. Wang Qi did not think that "he" would need so much time to think within mindscape spacetime.
—To deduce the "art" to its very limit.
Wang Qi felt his consciousness flowing.
It flowed through his own blood vessels. He sensed the existence of his soul with unprecedented clarity, just as he had once sensed his physical body.
Then, "Wang Qi" overflowed from Wang Qi's soul. The copy was simply too enormous;
