At the highest platform within the Forbidden City Phoenix Tomb stood a lone room.

This was Jinshen Hall.

The Holy Emperor sat here, wholly absorbed in refining gods.

Suddenly, an acupoint on the Holy Emperor's left shoulder twitched lightly. The Divine Body of "Tai'an Qingfu Zhengshen" was the first to sound a warning.

Tai'an Qingfu Zhengshen was an exceedingly ancient faith on the God Continent, one of the Daoist sects' attempts at the incense-and-faith Divine Dao. Yet after the ancient Daoist sects were destroyed at the hands of the demonic sects, this deity had gradually been forgotten and lost its incense offerings.

But the God Continent's research into the incense-and-faith Divine Dao was truly too backward. Even though the Modern Dharma Cultivators' "cluster theory" came very close to the essence of the Divine Dao, it could not make up for how shallow their understanding of Divine Dao methods was.

For a Divine Dao system, so long as that system still interacted with the entirety of the Human Dao cluster, its Divine Body could not be completely destroyed.

In other words, so long as records remained, a god's sacred body was indestructible.

Fewer believers and insufficient incense offerings could only cause a god's sacred body to wither; they could not erase it entirely.

The Holy Emperor had now refined more than one hundred and thirty thousand gods. Every one of these gods was the discarded shell of a cultivator who had embarked upon the Divine Dao. Among them were gods like Cifu Shengzi Jingfeng Wang, the faith of the Holy Infant Sect and the foremost Divine Dao holy infant throughout the ages; obscure mountain gods, land gods, and City Gods; even utterly nonexistent gods fabricated by village shamans and witches were drawn in by the Holy Emperor through the Human Dao
