Ch. 263The Will of Humanity

GUTS used a Phase Destruction Missile and the Texas Cannon to wound Ligatron, but the monster survived and shot down Daigo’s fighter. After Daigo transformed into Tiga, the astronauts’ memories of their families helped free him from Ligatron’s grasp, and he destroyed the monster, sending the three astronauts’ lights into space.

  • Horii and Masaki Keigo completed the Phase Destruction Missile, and Captain Iruma Megumi ordered GUTS to use it against Ligatron.
  • Daigo’s missile weakened Ligatron’s structure, allowing Rena and Shinjoh to strike its wound with the Texas Cannon, but the monster regenerated and kept advancing.
  • Ligatron shot down Daigo’s GUTS Wing 1, and Daigo transformed into Tiga to fight it.
  • Daigo hesitated to fire on Ligatron after seeing the astronauts inside it, so the monster bound Tiga and began assimilating him.
  • Shinjoh called out to Dr. Ezaki, and Captain Iruma Megumi had Yazumi send Ligatron images of the astronauts’ families, causing it to release Tiga.
  • Tiga destroyed Ligatron with the Zeperion Beam, and the three astronauts’ lights flew into space; Masaki Keigo later arrived to direct recovery of the monster’s biological tissue.

Ch. 264Evolver Unit-01

Masaki Keigo and Ryoichi Sanada developed Evol Project Unit-01, a giant biological weapon controlled through a neural connection system. Shinjoh became its pilot and saw the completed, armed Unit-01 just as TPC received another Monster report.

  • Masaki Keigo examined Ligatron’s cells and used their properties to help develop Project E.
  • Ryoichi Sanada showed Munakata, Shinjoh, and Horii the giant Unit-01 body and explained how its neural connection system and quantum bio-computer worked.
  • Shinjoh piloted Unit-01 for the first time, moving its body smoothly through the neural connection.
  • GUTS chose Shinjoh as Unit-01’s pilot, and Masaki Keigo’s team fitted it with Ligatron-derived armor and weapons based on GUTS Wing 2 and Gakuma.
  • Shinjoh saw the completed Unit-01, and two days later TPC received another Monster report.

Ch. 265The first battle and a shaken world

TPC deployed Masaki Keigo’s newly built Evol Unit-01 to destroy Seelizar, and Shinjoh won a publicized battle that restored confidence in TPC. As TPC negotiated requests to share the technology, Daigo wondered what purpose his own giant’s power served now that humans could fight monsters themselves.

  • Masaki Keigo explained that Seelizar could regenerate from its active dead cells and recommended using Gakuma’s petrification ray in Evol Unit-01, despite Munakata’s objections; Director Yoshioka ordered Iruma Megumi to approve the operation.
  • The next day, Shinjoh piloted Evol Unit-01 into battle while Daigo flew one of the transport aircraft and encouraged him.
  • Shinjoh used Unit-01’s armor and strength to overpower Seelizar, petrified it with the Petrification Gun, and shattered the stone body before the watching media.
  • TPC’s victory restored its public standing, and Masaki Keigo negotiated with international representatives to supply a limited number of customized units in exchange for greater contributions to TPC.
  • Daigo watched the battle footage and questioned what meaning his giant’s power had if human pilots could also fight monsters.

Ch. 266Daigo's Confusion

Daigo wrestled with the meaning of his Giant power after humanity gained weapons capable of fighting monsters, then sparred with Masaki Keigo and began suspecting he was Impat's human host. Daigo ended by asking Masaki what Giants meant for humanity.

  • Daigo questioned the purpose of his inherited Giant power as he watched humanity gain strength against monsters.
  • Daigo found Masaki Keigo training alone late at night and was surprised by the scientist's formidable fighting skills.
  • Masaki invited Daigo to spar, and Daigo agreed.
  • Masaki quickly overwhelmed Daigo, whose thoughts turned to the possibility that Masaki was Impat's human host.
  • After Daigo fell, he refused Masaki's offered hand and asked what Giants truly meant for humanity.

Ch. 267Lightning People Attack

Masaki Keigo explained to Daigo why he wanted humanity to protect itself rather than depend on the Giant, and Daigo began seeking his guidance. As Masaki’s genetic information reading device neared completion, he received an email from Dr. Mizuno reporting traces of the Lightning People.

  • Masaki Keigo revealed that he had deduced Daigo was Ultraman Tiga from the repeated crashes of Daigo’s GUTS Wing and Tiga’s timely appearances.
  • Masaki Keigo took Daigo to the hangar and explained that humanity should rely on its own abilities instead of placing its hopes in an uncontrollable miracle.
  • Daigo accepted Masaki Keigo’s reasoning and began asking him for help learning to use the Giant’s power.
  • Masaki Keigo said a genetic information reading device could help Daigo gain combat experience, and he continued working to complete it.
  • Masaki Keigo received an email from Dr. Mizuno saying that traces of the Lightning People had been discovered.

Ch. 268The Bitter Fruit

Dr. Mizuno and GUTS investigated a strange cloud mass he believed was the Lightning People's nest, but the probe revealed a violent Monster that attacked their aircraft. Dr. Mizuno realized humanity's electromagnetic transmissions had poisoned the Lightning People, and the Monster was heading toward the K4 District's radio tower.

  • Dr. Mizuno showed Masaki Keigo satellite photos of the cloud mass and proposed a field investigation, but Masaki recommended sending an unmanned probe with GUTS support.
  • TPC approved the investigation, and Daigo deployed the shielded Seagull drone into the cloud mass while GUTS Wing 1 waited nearby.
  • The drone's feed showed the lights devouring one another until a single Monster remained, which deliberately destroyed the drone with an electric attack.
  • The Monster's electromagnetic interference disabled GUTS Wing 1, forcing Munakata to order a rescue while Yazumi tracked the cloud toward the K4 District.
  • Dr. Mizuno realized that human broadcasts and communications had contaminated the energy the Lightning People absorbed, making them violent, and that humanity had brought about the disaster.

Ch. 269Gazort

TPC prepared an electromagnetic trap and deployed Horii in Evol Plan Unit-01 to confront Gazort, while Horii hoped to communicate with the Lightning People before attacking. As Gazort arrived, Dr. Mizuno reconsidered Horii’s attempt, and Masaki Keigo urged him to preserve the lessons of the effort.

  • TPC established a heavily armed defense around a radio tower to lure Gazort, and Horii prepared to pilot Evol Plan Unit-01.
  • Horii told Dr. Mizuno that he wanted to try communicating with the Lightning People before attacking.
  • Dr. Mizuno discussed the conflict between humanity’s dependence on electromagnetic waves and the Lightning People’s survival with Masaki Keigo.
  • Masaki Keigo argued that Horii’s attempt and the battle’s lessons could help future generations find a way to coexist with the Lightning People.
  • Gazort emerged from the arriving black clouds amid intense electromagnetic interference.

Ch. 270A Gentle Heart

Horii tried to communicate with Gazort, but it attacked Unit-01 to absorb its energy, forcing Impat to intervene. After Impat separated Gazort into the Lightning People, humanity faced the unresolved threat of future attacks and convened to decide how to respond.

  • Horii asked to speak with Gazort, and Munakata suspended the attack after Masaki Keigo supported the attempt.
  • Horii used Unit-01's translator to tell Gazort they were friends, but Gazort replied that Unit-01 looked tasty and seized it to absorb its energy.
  • Munakata ordered an attack, but Gazort's magnetic field deflected the missiles, so the forces fired lasers instead.
  • Masaki Keigo transformed into Impat, freed Unit-01, and fought Gazort before reversing its transformation and releasing the Lightning People.
  • Masaki Keigo and the others returned to TPC's Far Eastern Headquarters, where Sawai's secretary brought them to a meeting about humanity's response to the Lightning People.

Ch. 271Memory Reading Device

Masaki Keigo persuaded TPC to postpone destroying the Lightning People and instead fund research into purifying them, leaving Horii determined to develop a system for communication between species. After the meeting, Masaki returned to his underground research base, where an ancient genetic-reading device stood ready.

  • Director Yoshioka urged TPC to wipe out the Lightning People before more Gazorts appeared, while Dr. Mizuno remained silent.
  • Masaki Keigo opposed Yoshioka and proposed reproducing the Giant's purification beam to prevent the Lightning People from mutating into Gazorts.
  • Masaki argued that the Lightning People were a consequence of humanity's actions and urged TPC to study them before deciding their fate.
  • TPC unanimously approved Masaki's proposal and increased funding and equipment for Dr. Mizuno's research.
  • Horii vowed to develop a next-generation system for communication between species, and Masaki returned to his underground research base beneath Kumamoto City, where an ancient genetic-reading device stood.

Ch. 272Memories of the Super Ancient Era

Daigo tested Masaki Keigo’s machine for reading genetic memories and experienced his ancestor Amui’s life in the Super Ancient era. After seeing Amui become Ultraman Tiga, Masaki pushed Daigo’s memories further back and uncovered the civilization of Super Ancient humans thirty million years ago.

  • Masaki Keigo explained how ultramodern genes could preserve memories and secured Daigo in the machine.
  • Daigo entered the memories of Amui, an ancient boy who found a crashed airplane and rescued a GUTS boy named Tsubasa.
  • Daigo realized Tsubasa was his future son with Rena after seeing a photograph of Tsubasa’s sister, Hikari.
  • Amui fought alongside Tsubasa and Mahoroba, inherited a bronze Sparklence, and transformed into Ultraman Tiga to save the village.
  • Masaki recognized the events as the legend of The Giant Revived from Ancient Times and sent Daigo’s memories further into the past.
  • Masaki saw a magnificent city of Super Ancient humans from thirty million years ago appear on the screen.

Ch. 273The past and the awakening of the dark giants

Daigo relived Tiga’s memories of the ultra-ancient civilization’s rise, corruption, and destruction, including Tiga’s betrayal of his dark giant companions to save the world. When Daigo’s Sparklence surged in response to those memories, it awakened the Giant Stone Statue beneath R’lyeh, whose eyes opened as she whispered, “Tiga...”

  • Daigo witnessed how the ultra-ancient humans first relied on the Giants of Light to defeat Golza and Melba, then abandoned their own resistance and fell into Gijera’s dreams.
  • The remaining humans created the Light Gene Converter, used artificial giants to defeat Gijera and other threats, and eventually split into factions of light and darkness that destroyed their civilization.
  • Yuzare sought out Tiga, who turned against his former companions Hudra, Darramb, and Camearra to end the war and save the world.
  • As Daigo experienced Tiga taking Camearra’s power and transforming into light, his Sparklence released an unprecedented surge of energy.
  • Masaki Keigo traced the surge to R’lyeh, where the female Giant Stone Statue awakened and whispered Tiga’s name.

Ch. 274Aliens descending to Earth

Daigo began combat training using a virtual simulation after the bleeding effect from his ancestor’s memories proved dangerous. Meanwhile, an unidentified spacecraft approached Delta Space Station and was destroyed by the Bakir Cannon, but Masaki Keigo spotted a tiny object escaping toward Earth just before impact.

  • Masaki Keigo examined Daigo, confirmed his health was stable, and found R'lyeh’s barrier intact despite detecting darkness beneath the buried city.
  • Masaki Keigo trained Daigo with a full-dive simulation that let him practice his ancestor’s combat memories without their intense emotions.
  • After several days of training, Masaki Keigo and Director-General Sawai entered the command room as an unstable spacecraft headed toward Delta Space Station.
  • Sawai ordered the Bakir Cannon to destroy the spacecraft despite Commander Nanase’s plea to wait, prioritizing the station’s 278 occupants.
  • Masaki Keigo asked Yazumi to enlarge the footage and discovered that a tiny object had escaped the spacecraft and was falling toward Earth.

Ch. 275Daigo's Strengthening

After TPC tracked an alien escape craft to a forest, GUTS confronted its survivor, who transformed into a giant and attacked. Daigo’s Tiga revealed the results of intensive training and defeated Raychuran Man with a Zeperion Beam.

  • Masaki Keigo traced the escape craft’s landing to a forest in Japan, and Iruma Megumi sent GUTS to secure the site.
  • The survivor, a Wenchuran named Raykuran, accused Earthlings of killing his family, but Munakata suspected he had deliberately targeted Delta Space Station.
  • Shinjoh challenged Raykuran over escaping without his family, and Raykuran transformed into the fifty-meter Raychuran Man.
  • Daigo transformed into Tiga, who dodged Raychuran Man’s attack and struck it with an energy-enhanced uppercut.
  • Tiga overwhelmed Raychuran Man with his sharper combat skills and finished it with a Zeperion Beam.

Ch. 276Daigo's Super Ancient Shura Field

Daigo helped Rena confront her hurt over her father, Commander Nanase, and the two spent a day together after she asked him to accompany her gift shopping. Their outing ended with Daigo reliving a vision of Dark Tiga and Camearra appearing in the café, leaving Rena shocked and jealous.

  • Commander Nanase asked Daigo to give Rena a lipstick, and Rena eventually accepted it after Daigo encouraged her to understand her father’s love.
  • Rena invited Daigo to help choose a return gift for Commander Nanase, and they spent the day at an amusement park and aquarium instead of shopping.
  • Masaki Keigo detected a dark energy waveform opposite to the energy of Light in his laboratory beneath TPC Headquarters.
  • At the café, Daigo experienced a vision of the ancient city’s destruction and transformed into Dark Tiga before Rena’s voice brought him back.
  • Camearra approached Daigo in the café and greeted him, while Rena reacted with shock and jealousy.

Ch. 277A Lone Blade Meets the Appointment

Camearra, Hudra, and Darramb captured Daigo and Rena in a phase space, intending to make Daigo reclaim the power of darkness and break R'lyeh's seal. Masaki Keigo traced them to an abandoned factory and entered the space, where the Dark Giants turned to face him.

  • Daigo recognized Hudra and Darramb as revived Dark Giants, but Camearra and her companions subdued him and took him and Rena away.
  • Masaki Keigo found the café in disarray, examined the security footage, and concluded the Dark Giants had abducted Daigo and Rena into a phase space.
  • Masaki Keigo used PDI data and his transformation device to calculate and track the phase space.
  • Masaki Keigo arrived at an abandoned factory, where Daigo and Rena hung unconscious in chains and Camearra, Hudra, and Darramb confronted him.

Ch. 278Who Says Researchers Can't Fight?

Masaki Keigo fought Camearra’s Dark Giants, Hudra and Darramb, while protecting Daigo and Rena, then transformed into Impat and drove them away. He rescued Daigo and Rena, and Daigo revealed that his Sparklence had been destroyed but he had received a jet-black replacement.

  • Masaki Keigo demanded that Camearra release Daigo and Rena, then countered Hudra’s speed and fought Hudra and Darramb together.
  • Masaki Keigo outmaneuvered both Dark Giants and knocked Hudra down while staggering Darramb, as Daigo woke and watched.
  • Camearra offered Masaki Keigo a place on the side of darkness, but he refused and transformed into the human-sized Impat.
  • Camearra, Hudra, and Darramb vanished, promising to meet Tiga again and turn him back into their companion.
  • Masaki Keigo released his transformation and caught Daigo and Rena, and Daigo showed him a jet-black Sparklence after saying his own had been destroyed.

Ch. 279Interlude

After revealing that he was Tiga, Daigo told Rena about the Dark Giants and the ancient civilization. Masaki Keigo then pushed to strengthen humanity’s defenses, inspected the Tower of Babel, and began investigating the Dark Sparklence in his Kumamoto laboratory.

  • Masaki Keigo urged Daigo to tell Rena the truth, and Daigo confessed that he was Tiga and explained what he knew about Masaki Keigo, Camearra, the other Dark Giants, and the ancient civilization.
  • Masaki Keigo took Daigo’s black Sparklence and returned to Kumamoto, then proposed a Bio-Armor program at an emergency TPC meeting to improve soldiers’ combat abilities.
  • TPC’s Supreme Council unanimously approved the Bio-Armor project, and Masaki Keigo assigned its preliminary development to Ryoichi Sanada and Horii.
  • Masaki Keigo inspected construction of the Tower of Babel and received a report that GUTS and Unit-01 had defeated Gadi at an amusement park.
  • Masaki Keigo obtained the other two stone statues’ analysis data and sample fragments from Dr. Dango, then began studying the Dark Sparklence alongside the light-version Sparklence data.

Ch. 280Camearra reappeared

Rena used her Bio-Armor to fight Camearra while Daigo transformed into Ultraman Tiga and began restoring the children. Camearra escaped, and the witch transformed into Kiranbo to face Tiga.

  • The witch consumed the children's nightmares after Camearra gave her the dark energy.
  • Rena confronted Camearra, activated her Bio-Armor, and caught Camearra's dark whip before pulling her from her throne.
  • Rena and Camearra battled through the amusement park as Daigo raised the Sparklence and transformed into Ultraman Tiga.
  • Tiga's light rekindled the children's humanity, and Rena struck Camearra while she was distracted.
  • Camearra retreated into the shadows, and Rena began guiding the recovering children toward the exit.
  • The witch unleashed dark energy and began transforming into the monster Kiranbo.

Ch. 281Scientists All Hand-Craft Their Transformation Devices

Masaki Keigo discovered that dark energy revealed the Giants’ light-based life information and used the discovery to recreate Daigo’s Sparklence and develop a transformation device that could load different abilities. The prototype Evolu Bio-Armor was completed, giving Masaki a new research direction.

  • Masaki Keigo used the Dark Sparklence to expose light within Giant Stone Statue fragments and confirmed that Giants were higher-dimensional lifeforms projected into stone vessels.
  • Masaki Keigo transformed into Impat and used his power to craft a new Sparklence from statue fragments.
  • Masaki Keigo gave the recreated Sparklence to Daigo, who took it and left the laboratory.
  • Masaki Keigo stored photon information and added an Information Loading System to his own transformation device to enable form switching.
  • Ryoichi Sanada informed Masaki Keigo that the prototype Evolu Bio-Armor had been completed.

Ch. 282Bio-Armor and Halloween

Masaki Keigo demonstrated the Kryonaut Bio-Armor’s extraordinary abilities, while GUTS later investigated children’s disappearances and an anomalous magnetic field on Halloween. Daigo and Rena found the missing children in a strange amusement park, where the Dark Giant Camearra was draining their dark energy.

  • Shinjoh Tetsuo tested the Kryonaut, showing its incredible speed, strength, electromagnetic attack, and ability to withstand extreme environments.
  • Masaki Keigo explained that the Kryonaut could not yet be mass-produced, and Director Sawai Soichiro assigned priority supplies to GUTS and rapid-response units.
  • A month later, Yazumi reported an anomalous magnetic field and thirteen missing children, prompting Captain Iruma Megumi to deploy GUTS.
  • Daigo and Rena followed a suspicious witch away from a Halloween crowd, entered a spatial distortion, and found an eerie amusement park filled with the missing children.
  • Daigo and Rena saw the children’s dark energy gather around Camearra as she rose from a throne.
