"He'd protected his back with Nen using Ko."
Machi's ammunition supply shifted again, filling up densely once more.
"One might not be enough to kill you."
"How about this many?"
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!"
Another wave of missiles came hurtling toward him, but this time they were all heat-seeking.
Suddenly, Machi's purple Rinnegan eyes narrowed. A short figure appeared in front of Wutong.
He wore a simple kimono, both hands tucked into his sleeves. With his eyes narrowed and his brows relaxed, he seemed unconcerned by the powerful missiles.
Wutong immediately relaxed when he saw him, and cried out in delight,
"Maha-sama!"
"Mahahaha."
Maha spoke in a hoarse, aged voice. Both his expression and tone were perfectly calm.
"What on earth has been going on these past few days?"
"Why has everyone gotten so bold?"
"Daring to provoke the Zoldycks."
As he spoke, Maha pulled his right hand from his sleeve and sent it forward with a light, casual motion, as if he had no strength at all.
"Bang!"
A wave of air surged out. The tremendous force turned the air above into countless sharp blades, which swept forward like a gale and collided with the missiles.
"Boom!"
The missiles exploded in midair, obscuring Maha's small figure.
"Hm?!"
Machi's eyes narrowed. When the smoke cleared, Maha had vanished from where he'd been standing.
"Not good!"
An overwhelming force came crashing in, and Machi disappeared from the air.
In her place stood Maha, both hands tucked into his sleeves, his expression composed as he said,
"I still prefer speaking to people at eye level."
Then, as if he weighed nothing, Maha drifted lightly down from the air and looked at Machi, embedded in the ground.
"Now, tell me,"
"Who are you?"
Despite his short stature, Maha now radiated an immense pressure.
