By the time Nara Dan frowned and opened his senses, he finally understood the situation.

Nara Dan's expression darkened.
Gin Ichimaru had played him.
It wasn't that Gin Ichimaru had set a trap or broken his promise.
Instead, he had pulled a few strings and tossed the stone engraved with Flying Thunder God into the belly of a Hollow!

Nara Dan's expression turned cold as he silently added Gin Ichimaru to his little list.
He also knew Gin Ichimaru was retaliating against him for using Rangiku Matsumoto to threaten him.
"But the priority right now..."
Nara Dan gripped the Dharma Blade, Spiritual Power surging through his body.
"Draw: Clear and Turbid."

Like the first cry at the dawn of creation, the sound rang out, crisp and clear.
In the absolute darkness, a flash of blade light streaked past, its razor-sharp force spreading straight ahead.
"Rip!"
With a tearing sound, as though cloth had been sliced open, Nara Dan saw the light outside.
He emerged from the Hollow's body and saw the land around him, as well as the Hollow's full form.
Its pitch-black body stood dozens of meters tall, with a huge Hollow Hole in its chest and a white mask.
Everything about it showed its identity: a Gillian, one of Hueco Mundo's mainstays and a Menos.
"Luckily, the inside of a Hollow is made up of white matter formed from Reishi."
"It doesn't have mucus like a living creature would."
"Otherwise..."
Nara Dan cursed inwardly.
He would have to dig out those squinty eyes of Gin Ichimaru's.
"A Gillian, huh..."
Nara Dan looked at the Menos.
"Generally, their strength ranges from Seated Officer to Vice-Captain level."
"By Soul Reaper standards, they're definitely a mid-level fighting force."
