Mars Rains

Gun's explosive growth continued for more than ten days, until nearly all of Mars was covered in green.

Mars rapidly changed from red to green, like a traffic light changing colors.

The eyes of the entire world were focused on the six astronauts aboard the Mars Explorer.

Captain James sent a self-recorded video back to Earth. In it, he looked resolute as he declared that they would definitely land on Mars and find out exactly what had happened there for all humanity.

At last, the Mars Explorer entered Mars orbit.

Preparing to land!

The six astronauts stood ready at their respective positions inside the cabin, facing their instruments.

James remained in contact with Houston Command Center.

"Houston, this is Mars Explorer. We will begin descent in five minutes. Please authorize." James said.

It took three minutes for the signal to reach Earth, and another three minutes for Earth's reply to return.

Six minutes later, Houston's response arrived:

"Authorization granted. Good luck!"

James immediately activated descent mode.

The Mars Explorer spewed blazing flames and plunged headlong toward the emerald-green Mars!

The astronauts' expressions tightened. The spacecraft began scraping violently against Mars's atmosphere, and intense vibrations shook the cabin. Everyone had to grit their teeth to keep them from chattering.

The warning lights flashed red. The spacecraft's temperature was too high!

"Reverse thrust!" James shouted.

The astronauts simultaneously shoved down their control levers. The spacecraft blasted flames toward the ground, and its rate of descent began to slow!

The cabin was deafening. Instruments shrieked, engines roared, and flames and atmosphere screamed as they scraped rapidly against the spacecraft. Through the portholes, dazzling light filled their vision, as though someone were torching the spacecraft with a flamethrower.

"Three miles to the ground!" James shouted, his eyes fixed on the altimeter.

"Two miles to
