Little Gray White was not unable to see that when Ye Tian had angrily made his move later on, he had seemed to be at the end of his rope. Even his stance had grown somewhat unsteady.
She had always believed that Ye Tian had bought her as a slave. Even though Ye Tian fed and clothed her, it had never changed that belief.
Although Ye Tian had previously intended to send Little Gray White to a good family and remove her slave mark, he had never told her so, causing her to hold on to that belief all along.
Yet tonight, she had clearly seen the anger on Ye Tian's face. She truly could not understand the man before her.
Ye Tian did not notice Little Gray White blinking her big eyes as she stared at him. After helping her nourish her body and checking that she was indeed out of danger, he rose and tucked the blanket around her.
"Rest early. I'll cultivate in the hall. Call me if anything happens."
After saying that, he gently kissed Little Gray White on the forehead before leaving.
Little Gray White watched his departing back, lost in thought.
"Good lad, I never noticed before that you were so gentle with children." Lotus Lamp Elder had seen everything just now and could not help teasing him.
"I just think she's too pitiful. She was branded with a slave mark and sold at such a young age." Ye Tian did not particularly care. He truly had no other intentions, so he was naturally open and aboveboard.
"But there is too much misfortune in this world. You cannot possibly take care of every single one. All misfortune in this world is caused by the parties involved lacking sufficient ability."
"Then I'll become stronger. Strong
