"Wake up... wake up..." A familiar female voice echoed by Ye Tian's ear, but he had no strength to respond.
He was too exhausted—so exhausted that he could not even open his eyes.
"What did you do? Where have you brought us?" The voice kept speaking, anxious and furious.
Ye Tian listened carefully. It sounded like the Fetus Spirit's voice, yet somehow it did not.
Only as pinpricks of pain came one after another did Ye Tian gradually regain a trace of consciousness.
Seeing that it worked, the Fetus Spirit simply drove its finger straight into Ye Tian's flesh.
That jolted Ye Tian awake. At the very least, he was no longer seeing nothing but black.
Ye Tian struggled to sit up, rubbed his head, surveyed his surroundings, and said, "Where is this?"
The Fetus Spirit was immediately displeased and viciously yanked several times at Ye Tian's hair. "You still have the nerve to ask? The moment I came out, we arrived in this cursed place!"
The surroundings were empty. Ye Tian could vaguely make out that this seemed to be a cellar.
"This feeling is so familiar..." Ye Tian sniffed the dampness in the air and examined his surroundings once more.
Was this not the cellar where he had first been imprisoned?!
How had he suddenly returned here?
Ye Tian repeatedly checked his surroundings. It was indeed so—he truly was in the previous cellar.
"Wasn't I in the Void Palace? How did I return to this damned place?" Ye Tian found it increasingly strange and suspected that he had fallen under an illusion.
Yet everything about him was normal.
His divine sense probed, his dantian breathed and circulated, his soul rested within his body. No matter how he struck himself, there was no unusual reaction.
"What are you doing?"
