Within the Sacred Hall, dozens of peaks of varying heights and sizes jutted up from the sea, each serving a different purpose.
For example, Peiyuan Peak was where disciples who had yet to pass the entrance examination cultivated. Dian Jiao Peak was dedicated to storing books and scriptures. Then there was Xuan Ge Mountain, the unquestioned core of the Sacred Hall.
There was also Xingyu Peak, which oversaw discipline and imprisoned offenders; Hundred Flowers Peak, which cultivated spiritual herbs; and Myriad Beasts Peak, which bred and kept spirit beasts.
Beyond these peaks with specialized, singular functions, there were even more peaks where teachers and instructors lectured and cultivated, and where true Sacred Hall disciples trained and lived.
Among all these peaks, the twelve that housed academies stood at the very top.
Each academy had an Academy Instructor of the highest status. Within the Sacred Hall, only Academy Instructors were qualified to wear golden Taoist robes, which was why they were also called Golden Robe Instructors.
There would forever be only twelve academies. Only when an Academy Instructor position in one academy became vacant could another qualified instructor rise to fill it.
The minimum qualification to become an Academy Instructor was cultivation above Dao Seeking. However, all the current Academy Instructors of the Sacred Hall were basically above the True Immortal realm.
By the same logic, one had to reach above the Void Returning realm to become an ordinary instructor and gain the qualification to wear a red Daoist robe.
As for teachers in blue Taoist robes, they needed cultivation above the Spirit Transformation realm.
Below the twelve strongest and most outstanding academy peaks were the Four Peaks of East, South, West, and North. Below those came the other ordinary peaks.
