Above the Immortal Palace, near the northern reaches of the Nine Heavens, lay a forbidden land. Whenever the sky reached this place, winds and clouds underwent tremendous upheaval. Endless light smoke coiled through the air, and beneath the clouds and mist sprawled ruins scarred beyond recognition.
Between heaven and earth hung an exceedingly abrupt floating boulder. It was enormous, with a bottomless crater gouged into its surface as though a meteor had struck the ground. Spiderweb cracks formed vast ravines that stretched endlessly beyond the boulder, reaching all the way to the horizon.
The entire floating boulder was covered in broken walls and collapsed ruins, littered with mangled corpses. Heavenly fire had scorched those bodies so severely that many of the broken remains could no longer be identified. Yet their shapes varied greatly; they were creatures of many different races.
Such a bizarre sight appearing Above the Nine Heavens was truly beyond all reason.
This floating boulder had once been a holy land of the Demon Race. During the last War of Gods and Demons, a group of immortals had used it as a battering ram, smashing through the Nine Heavens and charging straight into the heart of the Immortal Palace.
At the time, the immortals of the Immortal Palace were locked in fierce battle with the Devil Race and had suffered grievous losses. The chief culprit behind the War of Gods and Demons began a rebellion from the lower realms. Throughout the Nine Heavens, every resister was slaughtered. The remaining beings of every realm were swept along to invade Above the Nine Heavens.
The immortals of the Immortal Palace crumbled like a mountain collapsing. If this floating boulder advanced one step further, the entire Nine Heavens would be completely controlled.
At that very moment, an unknown immortal named Ye
