Watching Uchiha Sasuke's lonely back gradually disappear into the night, Houka shook his head with a laugh, then headed toward the medical division.
Kurenai's injuries were not serious, but she had keenly sensed the undercurrents within the Allied Forces' camp. Thus, after receiving treatment, she had not left immediately. Like Yakushi Kabuto, she intended to gather some intelligence.
But their identities were different, after all. The Medical Ninjas from Konoha kept a close eye on her, giving her no opportunity to act.
Only after Houka arrived did Kurenai reluctantly leave with him.
"I always feel like you're looking down on me. As an outstanding Genjutsu-type ninja, I'm also very good at gathering intelligence."
Kurenai walked beside Houka through the night, a hint of dissatisfaction in her crimson eyes.
"Sigh, you've wronged me over this. It was Kabuto. Kurenai, you know how it is—Kabuto spent several years as a spy when he was young, gathering intelligence among every nation and faction. Once exposed, death was certain. It was incredibly dangerous! But that time was his lost youth!" Houka said with utter sincerity. "He came to see me a couple days ago and said he missed those days terribly. He knelt down, hugged my leg, and cried and begged to go to the medical division to gather intelligence. I couldn't stop him even if I tried. Sigh! At his age, he's still acting like this. He really makes people worry."
After saying that, Houka somewhat guiltily used Sensory Ninjutsu to scan the area. Only after confirming that Kabuto was not nearby did he quietly breathe a sigh of relief.
Tilting her head, Kurenai glared adorably at Houka beneath the moonlight. "What nonsense. I don't believe a word of your lies, you liar."
"You actually don't believe me?" Houka flew into a rage.
