Shizuki frowned deeply. Every ninja in the village who had dared question his appointment of Shibuki as leader had already been arrested. Could this guy be one who had slipped through the net?

"Who am I? Hahaha, Shizuki, it hasn't even been that long, and you've already forgotten me."

Kakuzu removed the straw hat from his head, revealing a scalp covered in stitch marks.

The stitches were scars left after Deva Path Pain had split him apart, then sewn him back together with Earth Grudge Fear.

"Kakuzu?!"

Shizuki's expression shifted slightly when he saw who it was, but he quickly calmed down.

Takigakure now knew Kakuzu's weakness. As long as they targeted his masked hearts, there was no way Kakuzu could stir up any trouble here!

"You still dare show your face in the village, Kakuzu. You've really grown bolder and bolder." Shizuki spoke coldly. "Today, I'll use your life as a gift to celebrate Shibuki becoming the new leader!"

"Is that so?"

Kakuzu swept his gaze around, looking at the Takigakure ninja gradually surrounding him, as well as the Takigakure civilians watching from nearby. The threat in his voice was unmistakable. "Are you sure?"

Shizuki hurriedly signaled for the Takigakure ninja to back away.

Indeed, with Kakuzu's strength, any random ninjutsu he threw out could cause disaster-like destruction. With so many Takigakure civilians here, once fighting broke out, more than half of them would surely be killed or injured. Even if they managed to kill Kakuzu afterward, Takigakure would be severely weakened!

That was not what Shizuki wanted to see.

Kakuzu smiled. "Relax. I only came here to offer my congratulations—and to ask for a little congratulatory money while I'm at it. Shizuki, you'll satisfy this small wish of mine, won't you?"
