Background

Kakashi is the son of Hatake Sakumo, the White Fang of Konoha. From childhood, he was recognized as a prodigy and became the focus of Konoha's major clans after breaking the Chunin record at only six years old. Despite the achievement, he showed no outward pride, reflecting the high standards he set for himself. 30 72

He initially entered Anbu with Houka and Uchiha Tenzen, where each recruit received a Cursed Seal to prevent leaks of Anbu intelligence. Kakashi's seal was removed when he and Houka were promoted to Chunin. 68 72

During the Kannabi Bridge operation, Kakashi served under Minato Namikaze alongside Obito and Rin. Obsessed with earning merit and restoring his reputation as a genius, he initially placed the mission above rescuing the captured Rin. Obito's decision to save her forced Kakashi to confront his own priorities; he ultimately joined Obito, protected him from an ambush, and lost his left eye in the process. 381 383

Obito gave Kakashi his Sharingan before seemingly dying. Kakashi refused later demands that the eye be returned to the Uchiha Clan, regarding it as both Obito's final gift and the motivation that kept him moving forward. 388 394
