After leaving Iruka's office, Naruto did not give up. Instead, he ran to the other teachers' offices to ask around.
Before long, Naruto had gotten Kakashi's address.
An entire box of treasures—it must be worth a lot of money! Then I can eat ramen every day!
Naruto's heart pounded as he grew more excited the more he thought about it.
He waited until school let out in the evening, then dashed toward Kakashi's home using the address.
"Eh..."
Naruto stood at the entrance of the Hatake Residence, staring at the surrounding buildings in a daze. "This feels so familiar... It's like I used to live here..."
Naruto rubbed his head, but he could not recall any specific details.
It was not surprising. When Naruto had still been an infant, Hatake Sakumo and his son had taken him in. Houka did not take him away until he was a few years older.
But Naruto had only been a few years old back then. He could not remember anything at all.
Now that he had returned to this old place, it was already remarkable that he felt any familiarity.
Naruto pushed aside his doubts and stepped forward to knock on the door. Bang bang bang!
After a long while, no one answered.
"Are they not home?"
Naruto crossed his arms, considering whether he should kick the door down.
"Kid, what are you doing?"
A lazy voice suddenly came from behind him. It sounded... somewhat familiar as well.
Naruto turned around, his eyes widening as he pointed at Kakashi in stunned disbelief. "Y-you, you..."
I don't know why, but I feel like I've seen him somewhere before. Naruto bared his teeth as he stared at Kakashi. Yet no matter how hard he thought, he could not remember. In the end, he blamed Houka.
