Kisame Hoshigaki followed Uchiha Itachi as they raced wildly across the sea. After an unknown amount of time, Uchiha Itachi suddenly came to a stop.
"What is it?"
Kisame Hoshigaki stopped beside him as well.
"Kisame, you remember what I told you, don't you?" Uchiha Itachi said calmly. "Those who slaughter their comrades never come to a good end."
"So?" Kisame Hoshigaki stared at Uchiha Itachi's expression, a strange feeling suddenly welling up within him.

"Don't joke around. With your strength, how could you possibly lose to your younger brother?" Kisame Hoshigaki's tiny eyes instantly filled with a complex mix of fury, resentment, and betrayal. "Mr. Itachi, you must be joking with me!"
By the time Shisui arrived, he saw only a figure floating on the sea.
"Sasuke!"
Shisui rushed over and discovered Sasuke staring blankly at the sky.
Uchiha Itachi clearly could have killed him. He clearly could have taken his Sharingan. He clearly did not have to die. So why had it ended like this?
