In the dark Konoha Prison, Houka headed straight to the cell where Uchiha Sasuke was being held.
"Sasuke, come with me. You're free."
Houka looked at the disheveled Uchiha Sasuke inside and spoke softly.
"Danzo?" Uchiha Sasuke raised his head slightly.
"He colluded with Akatsuki, so he deserved to die," Houka said. "Pity he died so easily. He got off too lightly."
A cold smile tugged at Uchiha Sasuke's lips. "Before he self-destructed, I burned through his entire back and spine with Amaterasu's flames. He endured tremendous pain before he died!"
"He still got off too lightly." Houka shook his head. All sorts of cruel tortures could have been used on Danzo.
Houka removed the iron chains from Uchiha Sasuke's hands and feet, then lifted the seal inside his body.
Uchiha Sasuke staggered to his feet and followed Houka out of the prison.
"What have you decided about Itachi?"
As they stepped out through the prison gates, Houka turned and asked.
Uchiha Sasuke looked dazed. "I don't know. I... I don't know how to face him. I'm not ready yet..."
Houka nodded in understanding.
After all, he had been deceived by his own brother for nearly half his life. Though Itachi had done it with good intentions, the hatred that had accumulated over the years had truly sunk deep into Uchiha Sasuke's heart. In fact, it was that blood-deep hatred that had kept him going until now. How could he possibly erase all that hatred in such a short time, let alone turn it into affection for Itachi?
So even if Uchiha Sasuke eventually forgave Uchiha Itachi, he would probably need some time.
