I nearly cried from the pain today. I had to move my mom onto a gurney for an examination, and for the third time in three consecutive days, I twisted my back. The pain sent me straight to the floor.
Lying there, I truly felt helpless. I was injured, but there was no one to help me, so I could only force myself through it. Yet in the end, I still couldn't hold on.
My wife scolded me over the phone, and I had no choice but to call my dad back after he'd just gone home to rest.
I'm sitting by the bed now, typing on my phone. My back hurts so badly I can't straighten up, and my throat is swollen too. It's a feeling I can't even describe.
