Arc 1A Quiet Class D Beginning

Hoshino Kanade built quiet connections with Ayanokoji Kiyona and Shiina Hiyori while selling information about the school’s first assessment. Class D’s allowance vanished after its ranking fell to zero, and Horikita Suzune began trying to help its weakest students. The stretch ended with Kanade, Kiyona, and Hiyori heading to his dorm room to study together.

  • Hoshino Kanade met Ayanokoji Kiyona on the bus, and they became friends after arriving at Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School and discovering they were in Class D.
  • Hoshino Kanade and Kiyona skipped the opening ceremony, explored the campus, and began spending their free time eating and reading together, and Kanade also became captivated by Shiina Hiyori in the library.
  • Hoshino Kanade arranged deals with Ichinose Honami and Shiina Hiyori to sell Class D’s first-assessment information, with Hiyori agreeing to negotiate with Ryuen Kakeru on his behalf.
  • Chabashira Sae revealed that Class D had lost all its monthly points because of its students’ conduct, while Class A had 950 points, Class B had 940, and Class C had 750.
  • Chabashira Sae questioned Kanade and Kiyona about their records, while Horikita Suzune learned that Kiyona had deliberately scored fifty in every subject and Kanade did not care about Class D’s standing.
  • Horikita Suzune asked Kanade and Kiyona to help her raise Class D to Class A, but both refused, and Kiyona decided she wanted to remain by Kanade’s side.
  • Horikita Manabu confronted Suzune and challenged her to face Class D’s problems, and Suzune then asked Kushida Kikyo to help bring Sudō, Ike, and Yamauchi to the study group.
  • Horikita Suzune began teaching Sudō, Ike, and Yamauchi from middle-school textbooks, while Kanade, Kiyona, and Hiyori left the library together to study in Kanade’s dorm room.

Arc 2The Island Survival Exam

After Ken Sudō’s expulsion left Class D with no points, Hoshino Kanade protected his relationships and recruited Matsushita Chiaki as an ally. Class D passed its final exam and reached the island expecting a vacation, only to learn that the school had begun a survival exam with class points at stake.

  • Chabashira Sae announced that Ken Sudō would be expelled after he failed the midterm, and Class D lost 100 Class Points when he left.

  • Class D passed the final exam and boarded a luxury cruise ship, but Hoshino Kanade and Ayanokoji Kiyona recognized that the island ahead was likely an exam site.
  • The students arrived on the island and learned from Hoshinomiya Chie that all four classes would live there and manage their own survival until August 7.
  • Hoshinomiya Chie explained that each class had 300 points to spend on supplies and activities, and that unused points would become Class Points after summer vacation.
  • Chabashira Sae explained the watches, survival rules, base claims, and leader-guessing game, but Class D had not chosen a campsite or leader by the end of the chapter.
